Quinnipiac Records Second Win in Program History Over the Stags in Match Two
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team dropped the first match of Sunday's doubleheader to Fairfield, 3-2. The Bobcats took sets one and three, while the Stags took sets two, four and five.
Morgan Sherwin led the way for the Bobcats as she posted her second double-double of the season with 20 kills and 18 digs, both of which are season highs for the senior outside hitter. She also posted a season-high five blocks for Quinnipiac.
Two other Bobcats recorded double-doubles as well as Aryanah Diaz recorded 17 kills and 17 digs. Nicole Migliozzi dished out 46 assists and had 11 digs in the defeat.
The Bobcats tied their season high in aces with 10 and were only one behind their season high in blocks with eight.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
Quinnipiac won the first three points of the match, and eventually went on another 3-0 run to take an 11-8 lead. The Bobcats continued to increase their lead, grabbing a 17-12 lead. Fairfield won the next two points, but the Bobcats answered back with seven straight points. Fairfield ended the run with one point, but the Bobcats won the next point to close out the set, 25-15.
SET TWO
The Bobcats won three of the first four points, but the Stags won four consecutive points to take a 5-3 lead. Quinnipiac won two straight points to tie the set at eight, but Fairfield won six of seven points to take a 14-9 advantage. The Bobcats then answered back winning five of six points to get within 15-14. The Bobcats could not closer than two points within the Stags as Fairfield took the set, 25-22.
SET THREE
Quinnipiac took an early 6-2 lead in the set. They then used a 3-0 run to take a 12-6 lead. The teams traded points for the remainder of the set, which allowed the Bobcats to take it, 25-20.
SET FOUR
Fairfield took a 10-4 lead in the fourth. Quinnipiac won four of the next five points to cut the Fairfield lead to 11-8. The Stags went on a 6-2 run to take a 17-10 lead. The Bobcats then answered back with four of the next five points going their way to cut the Stags lead to 18-14. Fairfield then outscored the Bobcats 7-2 in the closing stages of the set to take it 25-16.
SET FIVE
Fairfield won the first five points of the set, leading to a Quinnipiac timeout. They held the advantage in the set throughout the majority of the set. The Bobcats won three consecutive points to get within 14-9, but Fairfield won the final point of the set to take the set, 15-9 and the match, 3-2.
MATCH 2
In the second five set match between the two teams, the Bobcats came out victorious, 3-2 for their second ever victory against Fairfield. Quinnipiac also handed the Stags their first loss of the season.
Maggie Baker led the Bobcats attack with her fourth double-double of the season, tallying 16 kills and 15 digs. She also had two assists and two aces in the victory.
Chloe Ka'ahanui dished out a career-high 44 assists in the five set victory. She recorded her fourth double-double of the season, pairing her assists total with 13 digs.
Georgia Tselepi was a force on the offensive end of the ball as well, tallying 13 kills and a team leading three aces. She also had a block for the Bobcats.

Fairfield then tied the set at 13, but that is the closest that the Stags would come to winning the set as the Bobcats took control of the latter half of the set to stay alive in the match, 25-20.

The Bobcats built an early 9-7 lead, but Fairfield came back with five straight points to take a 12-9 lead, forcing a Quinnipiac timeout. The Bobcats responded out of the timeout, tying the match at 15. The second half of the set was tightly contested as the teams traded points. The deciding factor in the set was a 3-0 Bobcats run to end the set, tying the match up at two with a 25-22 set victory.
SET FIVE
The final set was very close as the teams traded points back and forth to begin. The Bobcats won four of five points to take an 8-5 lead. After the midway point of the set, Fairfield mounted a comeback, getting within one point of Quinnipiac, 12-11. The Bobcats won the final three points of the set to complete the comeback, taking the set, 15-11 and the match, 3-2.
