Sophomore Midfielder Records First Multi-Goal and Multi-Point Game of Her Career

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team fell to the Monmouth Hawks, 21-8 on Friday afternoon in New Jersey. The Hawks scored 30 seconds into the game and never relinquished the lead en route to their third victory of the season.

Sophomore midfielder Liza Bailey scored a career-high four goals for the Bobcats. This is her first multi-goal and multi-point game in her young career. Midfielder Sophia Iaccino recorded five draw controls in the game.

Goalkeeper Kat Henselder set a new career high in saves with 16 for Quinnipiac. She also picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover.

GAME SUMMARY

Nicole Ceraso found the back of the net just 29 seconds into the game for Monmouth. The Hawks then scored two more goals to take an early 3-0 lead.
Emily Feeney kicked off the scoring for the Bobcats as she converted from the free position to cut the Monmouth lead to 3-1.
The Hawks scored six straight goals to take a 9-1 lead.
Maddie Deegan played a quick give and go with Gabby Beckett as Deegan ended the Monmouth run, cutting the Hawks lead to 9-2.
After Monmouth scored once, Liza Bailey answered back with two of her own.
Bailey completed her first half hat trick as she scored with 2:38 remaining in the first half.
Monmouth held a 12-5 lead going into halftime.
Three Monmouth goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half gave it a 15-5 lead.
Desiree Kleberg scored her first of the day, but Monmouth answered right back with three straight goals.
Bailey and Kleberg scored back-to-back goals, cutting the Monmouth lead to 18-8.
The Hawks tacked on three more before the end of regulation, giving them the 21-8 victory.

NOTES

The Hawks outshot the Bobcats, 43-28, including 37-18 in shots on goal.
Quinnipiac forced 11 Monmouth turnovers.
The Bobcats converted on 12 of their 17 clear attempts.
