HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer cruised past Siena in MAAC Play by the final score of 4-1 on Thursday, March 25 at the QU Soccer Stadium.

Domen Bozic, Tomas Svecula, Luke Allen and Domen Bozic all scored in the win for the Bobcats – who improve to 3-0 to begin the spring 2021 season.

"Another good performance today from the boys. I think – offensively – we're starting to see relationships develop a little bit more. We're playing a bit of a different style this year which allows us to be a bit more dynamic, so it was good to see four goals up on the board. I thought we had a pretty good performance today, and we'll continue to try to get better each day during this quick season."

SCORING SUMMARY
First Half

(2' – Quinnipiac 1, Siena 0): After a quick feed into the box, Oriac Vila Rotxes back-heeled the ball in the direction of Tomas Svecula. Svecula located the pass, then blasted a one-timer into the bottom left corner of the net.
(8' – Quinnipiac 2, Siena 0): Brage Aasen played the ball in off a set piece from the left side, Luke Allen headed a deflection off the cross bar, then Domen Bozic located the deflection and headed it in to give the Bobcats a two-goal advantage.

Second Half

(55' – Quinnipiac 3, Siena 0): The Bobcats scored off another set piece early in the second half. Brage Aasen played it in once again, the ball deflected off a Siena defender, then Luke Allen blasted one into the bottom right corner – as the shot deflected of the Siena keeper's hands and into the back of the net.
(78' – Quinnipiac 4, Siena 0): Brage Aasen located the ball, took a step over and touched it into the 18-yard box to David Bercedo – who finished for his first goal as a Bobcat.
(88' – Quinnipiac 4, Siena 1): Antonio Linge scored on a penalty kick for Siena's lone goal of the contest.

NOTES

The Bobcats outshot Siena 19-9 in total.
QU earned six corner chances, while the Saints had one.
First-year back Luke Allen recorded the first goal and assist of his collegiate career. He's now tied for the team-high in points (3) so far in the spring 2021 campaign.
Sophomore Tomas Svecula scored his first goal of the season in the win. The 2019 MAAC Rookie of the Year now has seven career goals with the Bobcats.
Sophomore Domen Bozic scored his first career goal. He now has one goal and one assist over his first 18 games in Hamden.
David Bercedo's goal is his first with Quinnipiac. He recorded eight goals in 13 games with Ohio Valley University as a freshman in 2019.
Brage Aasen and Oriac Vila eached picked up an assist for QU. Aasen (three assists) and Vila (one goal, one assist) are tied for the team lead in points.
Jared Mazzola made three more saves. The senior goalkeeper now has 151 saves for his career with the Bobcats.
