Bobcats Fall to Manhattan in Overtime, 2-1

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team dropped a mid-week conference game at home against Manhattan, 2-1, in overtime. First-year Rebecca Cooke netted her second goal of the season and is one a three-game point streak, but the Bobcats came up short against the Jaspers in their second straight overtime game.
Manhattan's Alexa Chapman scored the game's first goal in the second minute. Cooke tied the game in the 47th minute after beating a Jasper at the top of the 18-yard box. Lindsey Healy scored the game-winning goal with three minutes remaining in the second overtime period.
The Bobcats move to 1-1-1 on the season and Manhattan is now 2-0.

- (2' – Quinnipiac 0, Manhattan 1): The Jaspers took an early 1-0 lead in the second minute of the game when Manhattan's Tia Painilainen sent a long ball over the Bobcats' back line and Alexa Champan settled the ball and scored past Sofia Lospinoso.
- 47' – Quinnipiac 1, Manhattan 1): Cooke brought down the ball off of a long clearance by Quinnipiac and beat a Manhattan defender at the top of the 18-yard box. She slide the ball past Manhattan's Kim Mains to tie the game.
- (107' – Quinnipiac 1, Manhattan 2): The Jaspers won the game in overtime off of a corner kick with three minutes remaining in the second overtime period. Bri Floyd took the corner and Chloe Davis flicked the ball on to Lindsey Healy who tapped the ball in past Meaghan Phillips.
- Cooke is on a three-game point streak and leads the Bobcats with eight points on three goals and two assists.
- Sophomores Kayla Mingachos and Olivia Scott led the team with two shots on goal each.
- This is the Bobcats' first loss this season and second overtime game in a row.
- The Bobcats outshot the Jaspers 20-8 with eight shots on goal. Quinnipiac only allowed three shots on net, but gave up two goals.
- Manhattan's Kim Mains made seven saves.
- Quinnipiac had nine corner kicks as compared to Manhattan's three.
- The Bobcats will travel to West Long Branch, N.J. to take on the defending MAAC Champions, the Monmouth Hawks, on Saturday, March 27. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
