Quinnipiac Extends Win Streak to Three
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team extended its win streak to three as it defeated Iona, 19-15 on Sunday afternoon in Hamden. The Bobcats used a 5-0 run in the first half to take control of the game.
Iona got out to an early 3-1 advantage, but the Bobcats battled back, taking an 11-7 lead into halftime. Both teams scored eight goals in the second half in the Quinnipiac victory.
Graduate student Megan Szawlowski led the Bobcats offensively as she tied her career high with six points. The Holyoke, Mass. native scored three goals and matched her career high with three assists. Junior Maddie Deegan and sophomore Sophia Iaccino each found the back of the net four times. Iaccino also added an assist to give her five points on the day for the Bobcats.
Defensively, first year Julia Steneck picked up three ground balls. Four other Bobcats picked up two ground balls apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper Kat Henselder made a career-high 15 saves in her third victory between the pipes this season.

- First year Maddie Noel tallied one goal and three assists in Sunday's win. Her three assists and four points were both career highs.
- The Bobcats outshot the Gaels, 42-39, including 32-30 in shots on goal.
- Quinnipiac converted on 20 of its 23 clear attempts, compared to 15-of-18 for Iona.
