Senior forward named one of six nominees for prestigious community service award

Minneapolis, Minn. – Senior forward Grace Markey has been named a nominee for the 2021 Hockey Humanitarian Award, as announced by the Hockey Humanitarian Foundation on Monday, Feb. 8.
The Hockey Humanitarian Award is celebrating its 26th season and is presented every year to a college hockey player who has made significant contributions to his or her team and community through volunteer efforts.
Markey has immensely contributed to the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team's community service efforts over the past year. She is the team's community service representative and has worked on a number of community service projects for the university and the Hamden community, including volunteering at the Whitney Manor Rehabilitation Care Center, a senior living community in Hamden. Markey is one of six collegiate hockey players chosen as a nominee. The foundation will announce the three finalists at a later date.
