Tufto, Petruzzelli Nominated for Hobey Baker Award

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey senior captain Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) and senior goaltender Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) have been nominated for the 2021 Hobey Baker Award, as announced on Monday, Feb. 1.
Tufto and Petruzzelli are two of 50 nominees this year for the Hobey Baker Award, and two of just three from ECAC Hockey. This is the 41st year of the Hobey Baker Award, presented annual to the top NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey player.

Quinnipiac has had three players in its program history named as finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, most recently Chase Priskie '19 who reached the Top 10 last season. Reid Cashman '07 was selected as a Top 10 Finalist in 2005 while Eric Hartzell '13 was Hobey Hat Trick finalist in 2013, reaching the final three.
Tufto is nominated for the Hobey Baker Award for a second straight season as he is in the midst of one of the best seasons in program history. Tufto is tied for the national lead with 28 points while he has sole possession of the national lead with 24 assists. He is also third in the nation among centers with a .617 faceoff percentage. This season, he is averaging 1.56 points per game and 1.33 assists per game.
Earlier this season, Tufto posted the longest point streak in the nation at 12 games from Dec. 19 to Jan. 17. He also recorded the 100th assist of his collegiate career on Dec. 26.
Tufto now ranks third in program history with 114 career assists, and is third in Division I program history and eighth overall with 149 career points. Nationally, Tufto has the most career points by active NCAA Ice Hockey players and he is the only player with 100 career assists. He is averaging 1.16 points per game in his career.
Tufto has earned one ECAC Hockey Player of the Week honor this season, was named the ECAC Hockey First Star on Dec. 28 and earned the Hockey Commissioners' Association National Player of the Month for December.
Petruzzelli is in the midst of one of his best seasons yet as a Bobcat as he leads the nation with 18 games played, second in the nation with four shutouts and third with 10 wins. He owns a 10-5-3 record along with a .929 save percentage and 1.79 GAA.
Earlier in 2020-21, Petruzzelli became the second goaltender in program history and 27th Division I NCAA Men's Ice Hockey player to record three straight shutouts from Jan. 10-17. He posted the second-longest shutout streak in program history at 201:41.
In his career, Petruzzelli owns a career 2.19 GAA and .914 save percentage with 10 shutouts and a 44-24-7 record. He is tied for second in Division I program history in shutouts, fourth in GAA, fifth in save percentage and tied for fifth in wins.
He earned the ECAC Hockey Player and Goaltender of the Week awards on Jan. 18 and previously earned the league's Second Star of the Week on Dec. 21.
