Cameron Young ('19) Signs with NBA G League's Memphis Hustle

Former Quinnipiac All-American Set to Make Debut on Tuesday, Dec. 7 in Southaven, Mississippi
MEMPHIS – Former Quinnipiac men's basketball standout Cameron Young ('19) has signed a contract with the Memphis Hustle of the NBA G League.
Young made his debut for the Hustle – an affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies – on Sunday, Dec. 5 in Southaven, Mississippi. The former Quinnipiac AP All-American / 2018-19 MAAC Player of the Year joined the club earlier this week.
He recorded nine points in 22+ minutes of action during his G League debut (12/5), then added seven points during the team's latest win on Tuesday (12/7).

Young scored 1,350 total points in 70 career games for the Bobcats – setting a new career program record by averaging 19.3 points per game. He posted a Quinnipiac Division I single-season program record 728 points in 2018-19, also good for the third-most points in a season across all levels. He recorded 23.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest in 2018-19.
The 6-foot-6 wing scored the highest single-game point total in Division I basketball this past season, recording an impressive 55 points on Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Times Union Center vs. Siena. Young's 55 points also set a Quinnipiac Division I program record, as the graduate guard shot 15-for-24 from the floor, grabbing 10 rebounds in 53+ minutes played.
Young scored 25 points a week later in Quinnipiac's road win over Monmouth on Feb. 24, breaking his own Division I single-season scoring record (622) – which was set in 2017-18. He ended his final collegiate campaign with 728 points, scoring 23.5 points per contest. He also broke the program's Division I single-season record for 3-pointers, surpassing James Johnson's total of 84 shots from distance in 2010-11. Young made 104 3-point field goals in 2018-19.
Young then signed his first professional contract in Italy with Pallacanestro Cantù – a basketball club based in Cantù, Italy. After spending the 2019-20 season with Pallacanestro Cantù, Young then joined Cherkaski Mavpy of the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague in February of 2021.
He signed with the South Bay Lakers on Oct. 23, 2021 after a successful tryout, then was waived at the end of training camp.
