HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer dropped a MAAC contest, 4-2, on Wednesday afternoon at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.

Jared Smith recorded a goal and an assist, and Sam McCann also scored for the Bobcats.

SCORING SUMMARY

FIRST HALF
(11' – Rider 1, Quinnipiac 0): Regis Dulck scored the first goal of the game – with the assist credited to Sergio Aguinaga. The goal gave the Broncs a 1-0 lead early on.

(40' – Rider 2, Quinnipiac 0): Zaki Alibou made it a two-goal Rider lead right before halftime, as Adel Al-Masude earned a helper on the play.

SECOND HALF
(50' – Rider 3, Quinnipiac 0): Francisco Gomez Olano scored Rider's third goal of the game, with Aguinaga earning his second helper on the play.

(63' – Rider 3, Quinnipiac 1): Jared Smith scored his first goal of the season to get QU on the board in the 63^rd minute of action. Smith played a shot in toward goal off a set piece, Tomas Svecula faked possession, and the ball rolled all the way in to the left corner of the net to make it 3-1.

(72' – Rider 4, Quinnipiac 1): Zaki Alibou scored Rider's fourth goal, as Aguinaga earned his third assist on the day.

(89' – Rider 4, Quinnipiac 2): Sam McCann scored late for the Bobcats to make it 4-2. Jared Smith played a ball in toward goal, and McCann scored on a diving header with just 46 seconds remaining.

NOTES

Sophomore Jared Smith scored his first career goal for QU. He also assisted on the Bobcats' second goal of the day, giving him three total points.
First Year forward Sam McCann scored his second goal of the season. McCann also scored on Sept. 11 at Central Connecticut State.
Quinnipiac keeper Antreas Hadjigavriel made three saves.
Rider outshot QU 13-10.
QU attempted five corner chances, while Rider had four.
Quinnipiac is now 4-7 vs. Rider since joining the MAAC in 2013.
