BUFFALO, N.Y. – Brage Aasen scored twice – including the game-winner in the 99^th minute of play – leading Quinnipiac men's soccer past Canisius on Saturday afternoon in Buffalo.

Aasen scored once in the 51^st minute, then tallied the game-winner 8:49 into overtime. He now has 16 points (7 goals, 2 assists) over the first 11 games of the season.

QU moves to 2-2-0 in MAAC play with the win. The Bobcats have won seven straight meetings vs. Canisius.

SCORING SUMMARY

SECOND HALF
(51' – Quinnipiac 1, Canisius 0): Brage Aasen scored to give the Bobcats the lead in the start of the second half. He netted a goal off a set piece, blasting a shot into the top of the net from outside the box.

(74' – Quinnipiac 1, Canisius 1): Alessio Atzori scored on a penalty kick after the Bobcats committed a foul inside the box.

OVERTIME
(99' – Quinnipiac 2, Canisius 1): David Bercedo played a ball in toward the top of the box, and Brage Aasen ran it down and finished with his left foot to send Quinnipiac home with the win. The game-winning goal came 8:49 into the first overtime period.

With a pair of goals in the win, Brage Aasen now leads the Bobcats in points (16) and goals (7) through 11 games.
David Bercedo earned an assist on the game-winning strike from Aasen. Bercedo now has three goals and three assists for nine points.
QU outshot Canisius 22-14. The Bobcats offensive attack generated 13 shots on goal.
Aasen had five shots on goal, while Bercedo recorded three.
Sophomore keeper Antreas Hadjigavriel made three saves in the win. The Bobcats defensive unit allowed just four shots on goal during the game.
The Bobcats are 11-1-1 vs. Canisius in QU's Division I history. Quinnipiac has won three straight vs. Canisius in Buffalo.
Head Coach Eric Da Costa now has 130 total wins at the helm of the Bobcats.
