Senior Earns 19 Rebounds in Win
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior forward Paige Warfel set a new career-high with 19 rebounds and junior Shaq Edwards tallied 20 points as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team finished the regular season with a win over Canisius on Saturday afternoon.
Warfel's 19 rebounds are the fifth-most in a game in Quinnipiac's Division I history.

- AJ Timbers scored six points in six minutes to give Canisius an early 11-4 lead out of the gates.
Edwards responded with eight points in what ended up as a 13-0 Quinnipiac run that gave the Bobcats a 17-11 lead on the final possession of the first quarter. - D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks scored on the last play of the quarter and the Golden Griffins pulled as close as one point early in the second frame.
- The Bobcats extended the lead back to seven points in the second quarter before a Patterson-Ricks triple with 1:26 on the clock cut the lead to two at the half.
- Canisius took the lead in the third quarter thanks to a 12-2 run, capped by a Danielle Sanderlin layup with 7:06 to play.
- Edwards' third three-pointer ended the run and tied the game at 34 at the 6:56 mark.
- After the teams exchanged leads, the Bobcats again jumped ahead in the latter stages of the quarter and yet another Edwards three made it 45-41 with 1:55 to play in the third.
- The Bobcats held Canisius without a field goal for a stretch of 6:02 spanning from 2:24 of the third to 6:22 of the fourth.
- Down the stretch in the fourth quarter, Canisius was able to pull within four on a triple by Timbers with 1:29 to play, but the Bobcats would not allow a field goal for the rest of the game.
- The Bobcats have hit 25 three pointers in their last four games after making just 24 in the seven games prior.
- Quinnipiac outrebounded Canisius, 43-32, thanks to Warfel's 19. The strongest advantage came via offensive rebounds, where the Bobcats outmuscled the Griffins by a 20-6 edge.
- Canisius committed 19 turnovers for the second-straight outing against the Bobcats.
- The Bobcats had an even assist-turnover ratio of 13-13 and dominated with 18 second chance points to Canisius' zero.
- Quinnipiac and the rest of their MAAC opponents will head to Atlantic City this week for the 2020 Hercules Tire Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships. The fifth-seeded Bobcats will square off with the fourth-seeded Manhattan College Jaspers in the quarterfinal round on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
