Bobcats Drop Game One of Week Series
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Michael Kohn (Rockville, Maryland) blasted his second career home run and second in as many weekends but the Quinnipiac baseball team fell at the No. 12 Mississippi State Bulldogs, 5-1, in the opening game of a three-game series at the Bulldogs Friday night.
Kohn went 1 for 3 with his solo home run while Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts) and Kyle Maves (Burlington, Ontario) singled in the loss.
The Bobcats bullpen allowed just one run over four innings but the Bobcats couldn't overcome the early 4-0 deficit in the loss.
Connor Mahoney (North Salem, New York) pitched two shutout innings from the bullpen and Anthony Ambrosino (Howard Beach, New York) did not allow a run in 1 2/3 innings out of the bullpen.

- Kohn blasted his second home run of the season as he pulled an 0-2 pitch down the righ line to get the Bobcats on the board
- Kohn's home run was the second of his career and second in as many weekends for the Bobcats as he extended his hitting streak to four games.
- Kohn has four extra base hits in his four game-hitting streak.
- Ostberg extended his hitting streak to six games with a single through the left side to lead off the fourth inning
