Bobcats Outscore Senators, 269.235-243.865, to Improve to 2-0 in 2020

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 3 Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team won all 19 heats and all six events Monday afternoon as the Bobcats swept the Davis and Elkins Senators, 269.235-243.865 in the home opener at the People's United Center.

Quinnipiac is 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2014 when the Bobcats defeated Gannon and Baylor to open the season.

The Bobcats tied or set season-highs in six different heats Monday night and tied or set season-highs in three different events, including a 90.81 in the team event.

Quinnipiac came out strong out of the gate with a season-high score of 37.60 in the compulsory event, led by an impressive 9.70 in the pyramid heat.

The Bobcats kept the momentum going into halftime as they tied their season-high in the 7-element acro heat with a 9.45 and recorded a season-high of 9.85 in the inversion pyramid to lead at the break.

Quinnipiac tied its season-high with a 9.70 in the 450 salto toss before posting a season-high 9.30 in the open toss to come out of halftime with a solid showing.

The Bobcats' quad pass scored a season-high 8.800 after a start value of 9.100 in the tumbling event and finished with a 54.625 before finishing the night with a 90.810 in the team event to close out the victory.

Monday night marked the first home midweek matchup since a Tuesday tri-meet in the 2015 season when the Bobcats hosted Alderson Broaddus and Hawaii Pacific.
The Bobcats are 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2014 as they head into a tough test at No. 2 Oregon on Sunday.
Quinnipiac's inversion pyramid scored a season-high and tied 2019's best score with a 9.85
The Bobcats quad pass consisting of Stella Pashaian, Darrah Magro, Bella Pierce and Kyla Roberts also had an impressive run as they scored an 8.800 after a start value of 9.100 for its highest score in the event over the past two seasons.
Quinnipiac also saw an improvement in its tosses from week one as the Bobcats tied their season-high with a 9.70 in the 540 salto toss and a season-best 9.30 in the open toss.
