Bobcats and Ducks Battle in Narrow Defeat in Matchup of Top Three Teams, 274.870-273.705

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 3 Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team won seven heats and two events Sunday afternoon but came up short in a thrilling matchup at the No. 2 Oregon Ducks, 274.870-273.705.
Quinnipiac and Oregon were neck-and-neck through the first three events as Oregon led the meet by less than a point, 95.80-94.95. The Bobcats won the Synchronized Pyramid heat and the 5-Elemen Acro as well as tying the open pyramid with their highest score of the meet, 9.85.
The Bobcats stormed back and took a lead heading into the final event of the meet as the Bobcats won the toss event, as well as two heats in the event, before winning the tumbling event by taking three of the six heats in tumbling.
Following the toss event, Quinnipiac only trailed by 0.30 before taking a 179.025-178.800 lead after the tumbling event.
Quinnipiac tied season-highs with its 37.60 in the compulsory event and 29.25 in the pyramid event before setting season-highs with a 28.35 in the toss heat, 55.725 in the tumbling event and 94.680 in the team event.

- Melanie Mancini (Waterbury, Connecticut) and Cassidy Osher (Old Bridge, New Jersey) recorded a season-high 9.400 in the duo pass, tied for the highest score in the event for the Bobcats over the last two seasons
- Chelsea Werner (Shoreham, New York) posted a score of 9.800 in the open pass after a start value of 9.95, good for the highest score in the heat over the past two seasons
- The Bobcats tied or set high scores in five of the six events for the season as well as three heats throughout the meet.
