AZUSA, Calif. — The Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling program capped its national championship run in style, winning four individual event titles on Sunday at the 2026 NCATA National Championship held at Azusa Pacific.
The Bobcats tied their program record for most titles they've earned on the final day, matching the four won at West Liberty during the 2023 edition of the national championship.
Quinnipiac capped a strong season in a couple of events, starting with the open pyramid that ended its run with a 9.950 en route to the title and capping a year that started with its viral ESPN clip against Gannon.
Two of the three toss rounds then went to the Bobcats as well, with the 450 Salto and Duo heats each winning the crown.
Katherine Carter capped the competition part of the day with a 9.975 in the six-element heat to finish her strong season in that run with a trophy.
During the awards portion of the meet, three Bobcats earned All-American honors. Gabby Pierce and Ashleigh Dugan were selected to the First Team, while Madysen Bradley garnered Second Team accolades.
Pierce and Dugan were also selected to the NCATA All-Academic Team, recognizing both scholastic and athletic achievements during the 2026 campaign.
After the awards ceremony came the most emotional part of the night, as the NCATA closed its chapter of running its own championship before the NCAA takes over for the inaugural NC Acrobatics and Tumbling Championship in the Spring of 2027.
The organization recognized everybody involved with the sport's upbringing, including a special recognition for its four founding coaches that included Quinnipiac head coach Mary Ann Powers.
They also created the Founders' Award, to be given on a yearly basis to an individual in the acrobatics and tumbling community that advocates and aids the growth of the sport on an elite level. The inaugural version given this year was given to those four head coaches.
Quinnipiac's team run came to an end at the National Championship round of the 2026 tournament, its third berth in the final and first since the 2018 campaign.
