Five Bobcats Score Two or More Goals
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team defeated the LIU Sharks on Sunday afternoon, 15-13. The Bobcats used second half runs of 4-0 and 2-0 to close out the back and forth game. There were five ties, but the Bobcats never found themselves down a goal during the game.
Senior attacker Megan Szawlowski found the back of the net five times in the win, while first-year midfielder Sophia Iaccino scored a hat trick within the first 14 minutes of the game.
Two Bobcats had put up two assists as junior attacker Shannon Savage and senior Brianna Fitzgerald each dished out two assists.
Senior defender Victoria Bobinski caused two turnovers and picked up three ground balls in the victory. Senior goalkeeper Allie Kelsey made nine saves in the Bobcat win.

- Sophomore midfielder Gabby Beckett gave the Bobcats a 1-0 lead off a free position opportunity.
- Senior attacker Megan Szawlowski scored her fifth goal of the season to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead. She then scored her second goal of the game to give the Bobcats a 6-4 lead.
- First-year midfielder Sophia Iaccino scored three consecutive goals to complete her hat trick in less that 14 minutes of game time.
- Brianna Fitzgerald dished out two assists, recorded three draw controls and caused one turnover in the first half.
- The Bobcats took an 8-7 lead into the locker room, as the teams played a back and forth first half.
- After LIU scored the first goal of the second half, the Bobcats went on a 3-0 run. Szawlowski scored twice during the run and first-year midfielder Amy Nicoloff netted her first goal of the afternoon to give the Bobcats an 11-8 lead. Quinnipiac would then extend that run to 4-0 as first-year midfielder Desiree Kleberg converted a free position opportunity to give the Bobcats a 12-8 lead.
- LIU went on a 3-0 run to cut the Bobcat lead to 12-11, but Quinnipiac answered that run with two straight goals from sophomore midfielder Maddie Deegan and Kleberg to give the Bobcats a 14-11 lead.
- Szawlowski iced the game for the Bobcats as she scored her fifth goal of the game with 23 seconds left to give Quinnipiac a 15-13 lead.
- Szawlowski recorded her third straight multi-goal game to begin the season.
- The Bobcats scored four goals while they had a player advantage.
- Quinnipiac outshot LIU 41-36, including 29-22 in shots on goal.
- The Bobcats won the ground ball battle as they picked up 22 to LIU's 17.
- The Bobcats get ready for their home opener as they host UConn on Saturday, February 29th at 12 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
