Baseball Shut Out by Dukes, 7-0, in Second Game of Three-Game Series

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Brandyn Garcia (Granby, Connecticut) pitched three innings of scoreless relief Saturday afternoon but the Quinnipiac baseball team fell at James Madison, 7-0, in game two of their three-game series with the Dukes.

Garcia's relief appearance was his second straight three-inning appearance as he struck out two batters and scattered two baserunners to keep the Dukes off the board.

James Madison hit a pair of solo home runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead before adding a run in the bottom of the second to make it 3-0. The Dukes scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings before Garcia shut them down out of the bullpen.

Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts) tallied the Bobcats lone hit with a single in the top of the fourth inning where he was ultimately stranded at third base.

Garcia pitched three scoreless innings of relief for his second straight three-inning appearance
He has now allowed just one run on three hits in six innings out of the bullpen this season for the Bobcats with four strikeouts
Ostberg's single was his second of the season.
Andre Marrero (West Springfield, Massachusetts) walked and stole a base for the Bobcats in the sixth inning for his third walk of the season and third stolen base.
Nick Paasch (Tolland, Connecticut) made his first appearance since March 12, 2019, as he tossed an inning of relief.
