Baseball Shut Out by Dukes, 7-0, in Second Game of Three-Game Series
HARRISONBURG, Va. – Brandyn Garcia (Granby, Connecticut) pitched three innings of scoreless relief Saturday afternoon but the Quinnipiac baseball team fell at James Madison, 7-0, in game two of their three-game series with the Dukes.
Garcia's relief appearance was his second straight three-inning appearance as he struck out two batters and scattered two baserunners to keep the Dukes off the board.
James Madison hit a pair of solo home runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead before adding a run in the bottom of the second to make it 3-0. The Dukes scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings before Garcia shut them down out of the bullpen.
Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts) tallied the Bobcats lone hit with a single in the top of the fourth inning where he was ultimately stranded at third base.
