Women's soccer looks to win fourth-straight in Cambridge
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's soccer team is back in action against Harvard on Wednesday, Sept. 4, as the team looks to win its fourth-straight game. The Bobcats and Crimson will kick off at 7 p.m., in Cambridge, Mass.

On a Roll:
The Bobcats will look to win the fourth-straight game of the 2019 season as they take on the Harvard Crimson for a mid-week battle in Cambridge. Quinnipiac looks to match the program's best start since 2012 when the squad started 4-0.
Scouting the Crimson:
Harvard is 0-1 on the season after opening against Northeastern and losing 4-1. Freshman Angela Caloia scored the lone goal for Harvard. Despite the score, Harvard recorded 10 shots to Northeastern's 12. In 2018, the Crimson went 7-7-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the Ive League. Harvard welcomed seven newcomers to the team and returned 21 letter-winners from last season.
History vs Harvard:
Quinnipiac looks to beat Harvard for the first time in program history. The Bobcats have gone 0-5 since 2000. The last matchup came in 2018 when Harvard won, 1-0, in Hamden.
Last Time Out:
Quinnipiac defeated the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds, 3-1, on Sunday, Sept. 1 on the road. Freshmen Markela Bejleri and Olivia Scott and sophomore Gretchen Kron all scored for the Bobcats. Scott led the team with one goal and two assists for four points. The Ontario native was also named the MAAC Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for her play over the weekend.
New Season, New Team:
Quinnipiac welcomes 11 newcomers to the squad, with five players coming from Ontario, four coming from New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois, one from England and one from the Netherlands. Seventeen players will return from the 2018 roster, including Selena Salas, who received All-MAAC honors at the end of the season.
2019 MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll:
The Monmouth Hawks were selected to finish first in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll, followed by Quinnipiac in second. Siena, Marist, Rider, Niagara, Fairfield, Manhattan, Canisius, Iona and Saint Peter's completed the preseason poll.Quinnipiac's Selena Salaswas voted to the Preseason All-MAAC team. Monmouth's Madie Gibson was named the Preseason Player of the Year.
