BALTIMORE, Md. – A new chapter of Quinnipiac volleyball kicks off in 2019 as the Bobcats hit the road for the first time, traveling to the Morgan State Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
New head coach Kyle Robinson will coach his first three games as the Bobcats take on William & Mary, Towson and Seton Hall.
2019 PREVIEW
Head Coach Kyle Robinson comes to Quinnipiac by the way of Oklahoma, holding the position of assistant coach from 2015 to 2018. Robinson enters Quinnipiac having a veteran team. The Bobcats welcome back four seniors, as well as several other upperclassmen who have seen a lot of the court over their Quinnipiac careers. Lydia Jones comes off her rookie season where she earned MAAC All-Rookie honors.
SCOUTING THE TRIBE
William & Mary is coming off a 2018 season where it posted a 5-20 record and a 1-15 conference record. The tribe enter the 2019 with a young squad with six freshman and five sophomores. The Tribe only have two juniors and one senior to round out their roster. The Tribe scrimmaged against VCU on August 16 and fell 3-1 in the match. In the CAA Preseason Poll the Tribe were picked to finish ninth out of nine teams.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Towson recorded a 17-15 season and a 10-6 record in the CAA. The Tigers also reached the semifinals of the CAA tournament. The Tigers were picked to finish fourth in the CAA Preseason Poll. Outside Hitter Emily Jarome and Middle Blocker Silvia Grassini were selected to the CAA Preseason All-Volleyball Honorable Mention Team.

Seton Hall is coming off a 10-20 season and a 5-12 record in BIG EAST play. The Pirates were picked to finish eighth out of ten teams in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll. The Pirates are coming into the 2019 season with eight freshmen.
PRESEASON POLL
Quinnipiac was picked to finish fourth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Poll as announced by the league office on Tuesday, August 20. The Bobcats also received a first place vote for the second time in three seasons.
VETERAN LEADERSHIP
Alejandra Rodriguez (Toa Alta, P.R.), Lauren Miller (Collegeville, Pa.), Maria Pansari (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) and Kaleigh Oates (Downingtown, Pa.) return as seniors for the Bobcats. All four seniors saw significant playing time last season with all of them playing more than 80 sets over the course of the season. Rodriguez and Pansari played all 112 sets last season.
NEW FACES
The Bobcats welcome four new players to the team for the 2019 season. Freshmen Alisa Mejia (Rye Brook, N.Y.) and Aryanah Diaz (Miami, Fla.) come in as college rookies. Georgia Tselepi (Athens, Greece) and Olga Zampati (Athens, Greece) come in as transfers from other Division 1 colleges. Tselepi comes to Quinnipiac after transferring from Cincinnati and Zampati comes from Oklahoma.
