Bobcats' Senior Outfielder Hits 40th Career Home Run to Pass Zangari '00
HAMDEN, Conn. – Liam Scafariello (Southington, Connecticut) connected on a home run to dead centerfield and broke the program record for career home runs with his 40th blast in the Quinnipiac baseball team's 6-5 victory over the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils.
Scafariello came into the game tied with Joe Zangari '00 with 39 home runs in his career before drilling the second pitch he saw in Wednesday's game. The home run was also his team-leading ninth of the season that gave the Bobcats an initial 1-0 lead. He finished the game 2 for 4 as he added a single later.
Earlier this season, Scafariello broke the Division I program record for home runs in a career, which he was tied with Ben Gibson '18, before owning the program mark with Wednesday's home run.

Kevin Huscher (Middleboro, Massachusetts) was 2 for 3 with a double, home run and three RBIs to help lead the Bobcats offense from the nine-spot in the lineup.
Matthew Draper (Lowell, Massachusetts) was stellar in his first career start as he went the first six innings, scattering four hits with one earned run and a career-high seven strikeouts. The only baserunner to reach in Draper's final three innings of work reached via an error.
