Bender Finishes with Four Hits, Including Walk-Off Double in Bottom of the 10th
The Bobcats comeback started in the bottom of the eighth inning after trailing by three runs. Huscher brought home Dylan Lutz (Denver, Colorado) from second base to pull within two runs.
Evan Vulgamore (Bow, New Hampshire) set the tone in the bottom of the ninth inning for the Bobcats as he blasted a lead-off home run to pull within a run before Lutz reached on a fielding error by Canisius that allowed pinch-runner Derek Kasperzyk (Killingworth, Connecticut) to tie the game, 9-9.
Huscher and Bender teamed up to provide the heroics in the bottom of the 10th inning for the team's first walk-off winner since the bottom of the 10th inning against Siena in the MAAC Tournament on May 25 of last season.
Bender finished the day with a game-high four hits as he was 4 for 6 with his walk-off double. Vulgamore scored three runs as he went 2 for 4 with his home run and had a stolen base while Andre Marrero (West Springfield, Massachusetts) had two hits and two runs scored. Lutz also had a run and RBI for the Bobcats.
Andrew Workman (Pound Ridge, New York) was stellar out of the bullpen once again for the Bobcats as he allowed just three baserunners with two strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work to pick up the victory.

SECOND INNING
- The Bobcats scored a pair of runs in the bottom half of the second to take a 2-0 lead.
- Vulgamore led off the inning with a single to left and moved up to second on a fielding error by the left fielder.
- Marrero singled to put runners on the corners before Vulgamore came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Anthony Cruz (Burlington, Massachusetts), which nearly dropped for a single but the right fielder Andy Leader might a great diving catch.
- Later in the inning with two outs, Brian Moskey (Higganum, Connecticut) was hit by a pitch and Marrero moved up to second.
- Lutz followed with a first-pitch single that scored Marrero to make it 2-0,
- After a three-run home run from William Krull in the top half of the inning, the Bobcats added three runs of their own to regain the lead
- After a one-out single from Bender, Vulgamore reached on a fielder's choice
- With two outs in the inning, Vulgamore stole second before Marrero and Cruz drew back-to-back walks to load the bases.
- Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts) drove a fly ball to deep center field that scored all three base runners to take a 5-3 lead
- After Canisius scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning, the Bobcats responded with a run to pull within one
- Bender singled to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch
- After a Vulgamore walk, the pair moved into scoring position on a passed ball
- Cruz walked to load the bases before Ostberg was hit by the eighth pitch of his at bat to score Bender but the Bobcats ended up leaving the bases loaded
- Canisius scored two more runs in the top of the inning but the Bobcats continued to chip away with a run in the inning

- After a 1-2-3 inning from Workman, the Bobcats went to work as Huscher reached with a lead-off walk
- Bender stepped in and on the eighth pitch of his at bat, ripped a double down the left field line that scored Huscher all the way from first to earn the walk-off win
- Bender tied his career-high and tallied four hits in a game for the second time this season and first since March 10 at Florida Gulf Coast
- He has now hit safely in four straight games and six of the last seven
- Workman pitched multiple innings out of the bullpen for the second consecutive day as he followed his three inning appearance yesterday with 2.1 innings today, recording two strikeouts
- He has not allowed an earned run since March 13, a span of 17 innings and eight appearances
- Vulgamore blasted his third home run of the season and first since March 1
- He came around to score three runs in a game for the second time this season to give him 20 on the year while he also recorded his eighth multi-hit game of the season
- Ostberg made his one hit count as he had a bases loaded double that scored three runs, and finished the game with a career-high four RBIs
- Marrero got back in the hit column with a pair of singles Sunday and scored a pair of runs
- He has now hit safely in 15 of the last 16 games
- Huscher extended his hitting streak to five games and has scored a run in four straight as he plated the game-winning run in the 10th inning
- Lutz recorded two hits in a game for the third time this season and first since Feb. 23 at Wake Forest as he raised his batting average to .241
- The Bobcats kick off a stretch of five straight road games on Tuesday with a trip to Fiondella Field in West Hartford, Connecticut, to face the Hartford Hawks
- First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Fiondella Field.
