HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's tennis returns to play this weekend, hosting a pair of matches vs. Siena and Saint Francis at the Outdoor Tennis Facility in Hamden.

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's tennis returns to play this weekend, hosting a pair of matches vs. Siena and Saint Francis at the Outdoor Tennis Facility in Hamden.
SENIOR DAY
- Quinnipiac will honor its three seniors – Alexandra Mircea, Proyfon Lohaphaisan, and Jennifer Lu – with a short ceremony prior to Saturday's match vs. Siena.
- Alexandra Mircea, a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection, has earned 53 total wins over her career at Quinnipiac. Mircea posted a winning overall record in her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons with the Bobcats, and has earned five total wins so far this season.
- Proyfon Lohaphaisan is two-time captain for the Bobcats, earning First-Team All-MAAC honors in singles play during each of her first three seasons with the program. She earned her 100th career win on April 13 of last season, and currently has 116 career wins in her time with the Bobcats.
- Jennifer Lu has earned First Team All-MAAC status in singles in each of her three seasons so far with the Bobcats, while also being named an All-MAAC honoree in doubles play twice. She earned her 100th career win in the spring of her junior season, and currently owns 127 career victories at Quinnipiac.
- Quinnipiac women's tennis earned its third win of the spring season on Sunday morning at the Outdoor Tennis Complex, cruising past Binghamton by the final score of 4-1.
- Layla Rodriguez earned both a singles and a doubles win for the Bobcats – who improve to 5-12 with the victory.
- Payton Bradley won her No. 3 singles match 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. The win is her first victory since March 15 at UC Riverside, and her first singles match win since March 13 vs. San Diego State.
- Rodriguez and Jennifer Lu earned a convincing 6-0 win in No. 2 doubles, and Stephanie Yanosov and Alexandra Mircea helped the Bobcats pick up a default win in No. 3 doubles.
- Dominique Vasile and Proyfon Lohaphaisan battled to a 3-3 score in No. 1 doubles, as the match went unfinished.
- Jennifer Lu (No. 2 singles) and Courtney Nash (No. 5 singles) each played in an unfinished match, while Proyfon Lohaphaisan won by default in No. 6 singles play.
- Quinnipiac women's tennis has been selected as the conference favorite in the 2019 MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office on Thursday, Jan. 17.
- The Bobcats, who received 47 total points in the poll, earned five of seven first place votes.
- Quinnipiac has won 49 straight MAAC matches since joining the conference in 2013-14, including 39 consecutive regular season victories. The Bobcats' 49-match winning streak is the largest active conference streak in Division I tennis.
- The Bobcats are coming off their fifth-straight MAAC Championship in 2017-18, posting a perfect 7-0 record in regular season conference action. Quinnipiac finished the 2018 MAAC Championship with two singles victories 15 seconds apart, lifting the program to a 4-1 win over Marist at the Mercer County Tennis Center on April 29, 2018.
- Paula Miller enters her fifth season as the Director of Tennis and Women's Tennis Head Coach in 2018-19, after a successful season in which Quinnipiac women's tennis reached their 11th NCAA Tournament Appearance in the Division I era after winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship title for the fifth straight year.
- Miller also earned her fourth consecutive MAAC Coach of the Year Award as she guided the Bobcats to their fifth straight MAAC Regular Season Championship with a fifth straight perfect year in the MAAC.
- The Bobcats went 7-0 in the regular season before claiming two more wins in the MAAC Tournament, to improve to a perfect 47-0 against league opponents since joining the MAAC in 2013-14.
- Sophomore Dominique Vasile (Bingham Farms, MI) returns to the Bobcats after an impressive freshman year. She was named 2017-18 MAAC Player of the Year and MAAC Rookie of the Year, and was selected to the First-Team All-MAAC team at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles. She finished 17-5 in singles last year, leading the program in win percentage.
- The reining MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Performer Jennifer Lu (Cypress, CA) returns for her senior year with the Bobcats. Lu posted a team-high 20 wins in singles (20-14) and a team-best 18 wins in doubles (18-13) in 2017-18, earning All-MAAC First Team status at No. 2 singles.
- Proyfon Lohaphaisan (Santa Clara, CA) also returns for her senior year in 2018-19 after posting 34 total wins last season. She went 19-11 in singles play and 15-10 in doubles action, earning First Team All-MAAC status at No. 5 singles and No. 2 doubles.
- Sophomore Courtney Nash (Andover, Mass.) was a First-Team All-MAAC performer at No. 6 singles last year, finishing with a 17-8 mark in singles play.
- Sophomore Payton Bradley (Downington, PA) was named First-Team All-MAAC for No. 3 singles, compiling 25 total wins in 2017-18.
- Layla Rodriguez (Rancho Santa Margarita) was named to the All-MAAC First Team in No. 4 singles, earning 15 singles wins and 15 doubles wins last year.
- Following this weekend's action, the Bobcats return on Thursday, April 11, hosting Bryant at 3:30 p.m. in Hamden.
