CHATTANOOGA, TN. – In her first season as head coach of the Wesleyan University women's tennis program, Quinnipiac alum Stephanie Yanosov ('21) guided the Cardinals to the second NCAA Division III National Championship in program history.
Under Yanosov's leadership, Wesleyan posted a perfect 10-0 NESCAC record and finished the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 23-2. The No. 4 Cardinals upset top-seeded CMS 4-3 in the national semifinals before defeating No. 3 WashU 4-1 to capture the national title.
Yanosov spent the previous four seasons at Wesleyan as an assistant coach and associate head coach for both the women's and men's tennis programs before being promoted to head coach ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 2024 ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year, she is also a two-time ITA Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year, earning the honor in both 2022-23 and 2023-24.
A 2021 graduate of Quinnipiac, Yanosov was a four-year letterwinner for the Bobcats and helped lead the program to a MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018.
Since joining the Wesleyan coaching staff in 2021, Yanosov has helped the Cardinals become one of the top tennis programs in the nation. During the 2021-22 season, Wesleyan finished 23-1 with an undefeated 10-0 NESCAC regular season record and advanced to the NCAA semifinals. The Cardinals followed with a 19-2 record, a fourth consecutive NESCAC Championship, and an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in 2022-23. In 2023-24, Wesleyan advanced to the NCAA National Championship match after opening the season 22-0, ultimately finishing as national runner-up for the second time in Yanosov's first three seasons with the program.
Yanosov graduated from Quinnipiac with a bachelor's degree in legal studies. A distinguished student-athlete, she earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, MAAC Scholar-Athlete recognition, and Quinnipiac Dean's List distinction all four years from 2017-21. Competing primarily at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles, Yanosov was named MAAC Player of the Week during her senior season and earned Second Team All-MAAC honors in singles along with First Team All-MAAC recognition in doubles.
