QUINNIPIAC SCORING PLAYS - GAME ONE
FIRST INNING
- The Bobcats tied the game after Andre Marrero reached first on an error made by Rider's shortstop and then later scored on a single from sophomore Colton Bender.
- The score was tied 1-1 after the first inning.
- Down 3-1, Marrero led off the third inning with a single to left field. Marrero was able to advance to third base after a double from Ian Ostberg.
- With one out, Bender grounded out to second base, allowing Marrero to score.
- Anthony Cruz recorded the third hit of the inning with a single to shortstop. Cruz drove in an RBI as Ostberg scored to give the Bobcats a 4-3 lead.
- The Bobcats added three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-5 lead over the Broncs.
- With Dylan Lutz on base, Marrero hit his sixth home run of the season, and Ostberg later scored an unearned run to give the Bobcats a two-run lead.
- With Cruz, Lutz and Liam Scafariello on base, Kevin Huscher was hit by a pitch and recorded one RBI to bring the Bobcats within one run of the Broncs.
- Senior Brian Moskey loaded the bases once again after reaching first on a fielder's choice. Ostbergthen doubled to left field, sending Lutz and Huscher home.
- Junior Evan Vulgamore came up and singled to center field, recording two RBIs and giving the Bobcats a 12-9 lead over the Broncs.
- Quinnipiac secured the 16-9 win by scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
- Lutz, Huscher and Moskey each hit a single to open the bottom of the eighth. Lutz scored on Huscher's single, and Vulgamore hit a triple to send Ostberg, Moskey and Huscher home.
FIRST INNING
- Quinnipiac opened the scoring for both teams in the first inning with a one-run triple from Marrero, who sent Moskey home.
- With Marrero on third base, Ostberg singled to center field, and the Bobcats took a 2-0 lead.
- Quinnipiac and Rider both added a run in the third inning. Ostberg tripled to center field, and Vulgamore hit a sacrifice fly to right field to send Ostberg home.
- The Bobcats would go into the fourth inning with a 3-1 lead.
- Moskey got the Bobcats going in the fourth inning with a sinlge and advanced to second on a wild pitch.
- Ostberg grounded out and recorded an RBI, sending Moskey home.
- With Marrero on third, Vulgamore hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Marrero to score.
- Bender came up and hit his second home run of the season to give the Bobcats a 6-1 lead.
- Moskey recorded his first homer of the season with a blast to right center to give the Bobcats a 7-1 lead in the sixth inning.
- Ostberg has recorded at least one hit in 11 of the last 12 games, and he now has 50 hits on the season, which is a new career high. He also has 22 RBIs this season, which is also a new career high.
- In the two wins, Ostberg went 4 for 6 with five runs, four RBIs, two doubles and one triple.
- Marrero went 3 for 10 through two games, recording five runs, drove in three RBIs and had a triple and homer.
- Scafariello recorded his sixth home run of the season and was walked twice against Rider (18 total this season). The senior has tallied 98 runs and 101 RBIs in his career and is looking to become the seventh player in Division I program history to score 100 runs and drive in 100 RBIs
- Moskey went 3 for 5 on the day with a home run, two RBIs and five runs. He is still tied for seventh in program history with Toby Peterson '00 and Chris Migani '13 with 41 doubles in his career, putting him eight away from tying the program record of 49 set by Vincent Guglietti '15.
- Tyler Poulin recorded the win against the Broncs in the 16-9 win and is now 6-2 on the season. He tallied five strikeouts through five innings.
- Chris Enns earned the win in the second game and is now 4-4 on the season. He pitched a season-high seven innings with eight strikeouts and one earned run, which is also a season-low.

- Quinnipiac will travel to Bryant on Tuesday, April 30 to face the Bulldogs at 3 p.m., for a single game.
