Bobcats vs Explorers:
First Inning - Sophomore Kayla Jensen singled to center field and stole second to put the Bobcats in a scoring position in the first inning. Freshman Lo Yarnall came up and hit a single to center field, allowing Jensen to score.
Highlights vs La Salle:
- Yarnall tallied an RBI.
- Freshman Brooklyn Maguire (0-2) pitched 5.2 innings for the Bobcats and recorded one strikeout.
- Jensen went 1-3 with one run.
First Inning - The Bobcats got off to a hot start in the first inning with a single by Jensen, who advanced to second on an Eagles' error. Junior Rachel Marchuk singled, and Jensen moved to third base. Senior Rebecca Drake hit a single and recorded an RBI as Jensen scored from third. Yarnall tallied a double and sent Marchuk home from third base. The Bobcats ended the inning leading the Eagles 2-0.
Third Inning - Jensen hit a single through the right side and stole her second base of the day. Drake was walked, and freshman Danielle Sorenson came in to pinch run. The Yarnall -Jensen pair recorded another run and RBI as Yarnall singled and allowed Jensen to score. With the bases loaded, senior Erin Larsen was walked after freshman Bridget Nasir was also walked, allowing Sorenson to score. The Bobcats would finish the inning leading the Eagles, 4-1.
Florida Gulf Coast would score six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-4 lead. The Eagles would hold on to the lead through the seventh inning and secure the win, 7-4.
Highlights vs Flordia Gulf Coast:
- Jensen, Marchuk, Drake and Yarnall all recorded hits in the first inning.
- Jensen 2-4 and recorded two runs. The transfer sophomore stole two bases against La Salle and Florida Gulf Coast and leads team with five on the season. She also leads the team with a .373 BA.
- Senior Kendall Brundrett (1-8) pitched six innings with three strikeouts.
The Bobcats will play one final game in Florida against Columbia at 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 17 before returning to Connecticut.
