Bobcats Wrap Up USF Under Armour Showcase

Bobcats vs Lions:
First Inning - Sophmore Kayla Jensen opened the first inning with a double to left center field. Junior Rachel Marchuk hit a sacrifice bunt, and Jensen advanced to third. Senior Rebecca Drake grounded out to Columbia's pitcher, allowing Jensen to score.
Third Inning - The Bobcats scored four runs in the third inning. Jensen singled and stole her third base in three games to advanced to second. Marchuk doubled and recorded and RBI, as Jensen scored. Later, freshman Bridget Nasir singled, allowing Marchuk to score. Sophomore Brighid Douglas hit a double and recorded an RBI, as Nasir and freshman Danielle Sorenson scored. Quinnipiac ended the inning with a 5-0 lead over Columbia.
Fifth Inning - In the fifth, Drake singled up the middle and advanced to second off a sacrifice bunt by freshman Lo Yarnall. Senior Erin Larsen singled to left field and advanced to second on the throw. Drake was able to score and gave the Bobcats a 6-3 lead.
The Lions made a comeback in the sixth inning to take back the lead and win the game, 8-6.
Highlights vs Columbia:
- Jensen led the Bobcats going 3-4 with two runs and a double.
- Marchuk and Douglas also tallied doubles.
- Douglas recorded two RBI to lead the team.
- Nasir went 2-4 with one run.
- Brundrett (1-9) had six strikeouts, which is a season-best.
Quinnipiac will return to the Northeast and play in Chestnut Hill, Mass., against Boston College on Tuesday, March 19 at 5 p.m.
