LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Quinnipiac softball team dropped the opening game in the Liberty Softball Classic to the host team, 4-0. The Flames' pitcher rotated four pitchers in the game and held the Bobcats to zero hits on the day.

Senior Kendall Brundrett pitched three innings for the Bobcats, along with freshman Lauren King who pitched three innings, only allowing two runs. Freshman Bridget Nasir, seniors Rebecca Drake and Erin Larsen all tallied a walk while at bat.

Julia Dimartino recorded the win for the Flames after pitching four innings with two strikeouts.

Quinnipiac moves to 2-4 overall and Liberty now stands at 9-6. The Bobcats will take on Sacred Heart and Cleveland State tomorrow in the second day of the Liberty Softball Classic. The Bobcats and Pioneers will play at 11 a.m., and the Vikings will face the Bobcats at 1 p.m.
