Bobcats Drop Road Contest to Hofstra After Strong First Half

Kuhn and Szawlowski Combine for Eight Points
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's lacrosse team gave Hofstra a true test for 30 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, but eventually dropped the non-conference matchup by a score of 17-7 in Hempstead, New York. The Bobcats scored three goals in the first three minutes of the game and trailed by just a goal, 8-7, at the halftime break but Hofstra's defensive effort in the second half proved to be the difference.
Allison Kuhn and Megan Szawlowski combined for six goals and two assists to pace the offensive output for Quinnipiac. Jenna Henningsen also scored and Sami Walters made 14 saves in the loss.

- Jenna Henningsen scored the first goal of the game in the opening minute. If was the third goal of the season for Henningsen.
- Kuhn scored four goals, includng two in the first three minutes of play. The senior also assisted on Henningsen's goal during her five-point outing. She is now three goals shy of 100 career goals, a feat only accomplished by eight players in program history.
- The Bobcats got out to an early 3-0 lead less than four minutes into the first half. Hofstra outscored Quinnipiac 9-0 in the second half.
- Szawlowski has now scored goals in five straight games to open her Quinnipiac career.
- Quinnipiac put 20 of its 24 shot attempts on target for a season-best accuracy mark of .833.
- The Bobcats scored three free position goals for the third time this season and generated 10 free position opportunities, a season-high.
- Quinnipiac was 19-20 on clear attempts, including a perfect 11-11 in the second half.
- The Bobcats host former NEC foe, Wagner, on Friday at 3:00 p.m. The contest will be played at the Quinnipiac Lacrosse Stadium.
