Seahawks Attack Outpaces Quinnipiac on Friday Afternoon
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Wagner took advantage of a fast start and ran away from Quinnipiac in women's lacrosse action on Friday afternoon. The Seahawks scored the first four goals of the game en route to a 17-5 win over the Bobcats at Wesleyan's Smith Field.
Megan Szawlowski tallied three points in the loss, while five other Bobcats recorded at least a point.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshmen Sophie Spencer and Gabby Beckett continued the strong starts to their careers, as Spencer scored her third goal of the season and Beckett secured her fourth assist in six games.
- Kuhn scored once and added an assist in the loss. The senior is now two goals shy of 100 career goals, a feat only accomplished by eight players in program history.
- Szawlowski has now scored goals in six straight games to open her Quinnipiac career.
- Cameron Parry's first goal of the season came less than 90 seconds after Szawlowski's first tally and pulled the Bobcats within two goals, at 6-4. But Wagner scored twice in final 90 seconds of the half to double the lead heading into the break.
- Graduate student Sami Walters made 10 saves in the loss, her second-straight game with 10+ saves.
- Quinnipiac put 20 of its 24 shot attempts on target for a season-best accuracy mark of .833.
- Wagner rattled off 42 shots, putting 27 on goal, while the Bobcats attack mustered 18 shots, 14 of which found the target.
- The Bobcats dominated the ground ball battle, outearning Wagner by an 18-10 tally.
- The Seahawks drew most of their success from a commanding 19-5 edge in draw controls.
- Quinnipiac was 16-18 on clear attempts, including 10-11 in the first half.
- Both teams committed 15 turnovers on the afternoon.
- The Bobcats hit the road for a brief two-game stint that will wrap up the non-conference portion of the 2019 schedule. Quinnipiac heads to Hartford on Wednesday before taking a week off and traveling to Fresno State during spring break.
