
Bobcats' Second Half Rally Falls Just Short at Canisius

Buffalo, NY – Quinnipiac men's basketball's comeback fell just short on Friday night at the Koessler Athletic Center, as Canisius defeated the Bobcats by the final score of 75-70.
Quinnipiac outscored Canisius 41-31 in the second half of action, erasing a 19-point deficit and ultimately tying the game 68-68 with 1:09 left in regulation.
Cameron Young led the way for the Bobcats once again, pouring in 30 more points on 8-of-14 shooting. Jacob Rigoni added 18 of his own, including 13 in the second half alone.

- After trailing 44-29 at halftime, Quinnipiac went on a 17-8 run over the first 5:46 of the second half of play.
- A key turning point came with 15:39 left in the second half. After Jacob Rigoni was fouled shooting a 3-pointer, Canisius received a technical foul heading in to the media timeout. Rigoni then knocked down five straight free throws after the stoppage in play, cutting the deficit to just eight points.
- Young's 30 points came via 8-for-14 shooting. The graduate guard went 11-of-13 from the foul line in the loss. Young is now averaging a MAAC-best 21.3 points per contest, scoring 24.8 points per game in MAAC play. He also recorded eight rebounds.
- Rigoni added 18 points – his second highest total of the season – on 5-of-8 shooting. The sophomore knocked down three 3-point field goals, and went 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.
- Abdulai Bundu grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, and went 2-for-3 from the floor.
- Canisius outrebounded Quinnipiac 40-33, as the Golden Griffins grabbed 13 offensive rebounds. Canisius' bench outscored the Bobcats bench 17-3.
- The Bobcats finish their road trip to Western New York on Sunday, Feb. 3, squaring off with Niagara at 2:00 p.m.
