DiLiberatore Nets Second Goal in Loss at Colgate

Bobcats Fall in Hamilton to Raiders, 3-1, Despite Outshooting Colgate 34-25
HAMILTON, N.Y. – Peter DiLiberatore (Bedford, Nova Scotia) scored his second goal of the season Saturday night but the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team came up short in ECAC Hockey play at Colgate, 3-1, at Class of 1965 Arena.
 
Trailing 1-0 in the second period and on the power play, DiLiberatore fired home his second of the season past Colgate goaltender Andrew Farrier's glove to tie the game at the time.
 
Colgate scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period before adding an empty netter to come away with its third win in league play.
 
Despite the loss, the Bobcats outshot the Raiders 34-25 and had a 15-10 advantage in the third period as the Bobcats tried to . Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) came up big between the pipes time and time again as he finished with 22 saves on the 24 shots he faced.

- (5:40, 2nd period – PP) – Quinnipiac 1, Colgate 1: DiLiberatore tied the game on the power play early in the second period as he stepped into a pass from Ethan de Jong (North Vancouver, British Columbia) and fired one over Farrier's glove.
- (9:50, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 1, Colgate 2: The Raiders took the lead midway through the second period as John Snodgrass put home a rebound off a Tyler Jeanson shot from in the slot.
- (18:28, 3rd period – EN) – Quinnipiac 1, Colgate 3: Bobby McMann collected a pass that that was slid out to him above the faceoff circles in his own defensive zone and slid the puck down the ice where it inched over the line with 1:32 left in the period.
- DiLiberatore's goal was his second of the season and second on the power play as he picked up a point for the first time since Nov. 1
- de Jong recorded the primary helper on DiLiberatore's goal for his fourth assist of the season and 19th of his career
- Bongiovanni became the Bobcats' second 10-point scorer on the season as he picked up the secondary assist on DiLiberatore's goal.
- Bongiovanni now has six goals and four assists on the season, and is one of 10 players in ECAC Hockey with 10-plus points so far this season
- Petruzzelli continued his strong play of late despite recording the loss as he made __ saves between the pipes for the Bobcats.
- The Bobcats return back home on Friday night for a Black Friday showdown with the No. 7/7 UMass Minutemen at 7:30 p.m. before both teams travel to the Mullins Center in Amherst, Mass. for the second game of the home-and-home series Saturday night at 7 p.m.
