Strubbe's First Half Goal Not Enough as Bobcats Fall to Yale
HAMDEN, Conn. – Bianka Strubbe (Wroclaw, Poland) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season Sunday afternoon but the Quinnipiac field hockey team fell to the Yale Bulldogs, 2-1, in non-conference play.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead into halftime thanks to Strubbe's goal on a penalty corner as time expired in the half but the Bobcats could not hold onto the lead as Yale turned up the pressure in the second half and put home to goals.
In addition to Sunday's game, Quinnipiac also recognized the six members of its Class of 2020 with the annual senior day game.

- 30:00 (Quinnipiac 1, Yale 0): Strubbe scored at the buzzer to cap off the first half with a goal on a penalty corner. Jess Halley (Glasgow, Scotland) inserted the ball for Inès Ruiz Martinez (Madrid, Spain) at the stick stop and Strubbe rifled home into the cage to take the lead.
- 34:03 (Quinnipiac 1, Yale 1): The Bulldogs tied the game early in the third quarter on a penalty corner of their own as Imogen Davies inserted the ball to Katie Pieterse at stick stop and Olivia Levieux's shot went low into the cage.
- 49:35 (Quinnipiac 1, Yale 2): Bridget Condie scored the game-winner for Yale with 10:25 left in the fourth quarter as she received a long pass in the middle of the field from Theodora Dillman before her shot went low inside the far post to take the lead.
NOTES
- Strubbe continues to shine offensively as she now leads the team with six goals and 14 points, both of which are good for career-highs
- Ruiz Martinez tallied her fifth assist of the season as she tied her career-high for assists in a single season and now has 20 points in her career
- Halley also tied her career-high for assists in a season with her second Sunday afternoon
- Mack Vorel (Mendham, New Jersey) made her second straight start and picked up two three saves against the Bulldogs
- She now has 41 saves on the season with a .745 save percentage and 2.63 GAA.
