WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Quinnipiac field hockey team could not overcome a quick second-half spurt from host Georgetown on Friday afternoon, as the Bobcats fell 3-1 to the Hoyas in a BIG EAST matchup.

Georgetown scored a pair of goals within 48 seconds of each other to take a lead they would not relinquish and the Hoyas added a third late while the Bobcat net was empty to secure the victory.

Francisca Eschoyez scored off a penalty corner early in the second quarter to give the visiting Bobcats a 1-0 advantage but could not muster offense after that.

STATS AND NOTES

Eschoyez potted her 11^th goal of the season, bringing her into a tie for sixth in program history for the most goals in a single season. They are the most goals since 2013 when record-holder Jess Rusin scored 17.
Her 31 points also bring her into a tie for fifth with Heather Cady for the most points in a single season.
After a 5-0 first-quarter flurry against them, the Bobcats outshot Georgetown 15-7 the rest of the way.
