GAME NOTES:
LAST TIME OUT
The Bobcats hosted Ivy League opponent, Harvard, on Sunday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Soccer Stadium. In what was an exciting, back-and-forth affair, Head Coach Dave Clarke's squad was unable to crack Harvard's goalkeeper and fell, 1-0, to the perennial New England soccer power.
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
UMass Lowell is 1-3-2 on the year with one loss coming against NJIT, who the Bobcats will square off with on Sunday in Hamden. The River Hawks notched their first tally in the win column, with a 3-0 victory against Sacred Heart on Monday. Emily Nelson (Peabody, Mass.), Lily Fabian (Monson, Mass.) and Kristin Birgisdottir (Mosfellsbaer, Iceland) each scored, while Rachel Morrier (Plaistow, N.H.) notched two assists. So far, Morrier has paced the team's offense, tallying two goals, two assists and 28 shots, including 10 on goal.
SAVING THE BEST FOR (SECOND TO) LAST
In four of the last five seasons, the Bobcats have earned a win or a draw in the second-to-last game before the start of MAAC play. Today's game at Lowell is the penultimate non-conference game of the season for Quinnipiac.
TWO FOR TRIGS
Sophomore Lauren Triglione (West Newbury, Massachusetts) scored a goal in both of Quinnipiac's first two games this season. She also assisted on Gretchen Kron's (Hebron, Connecticut) first career goal in the win at Bryant. Her five points so far this season come after playing five games last year without recording a point.
NO-LIVIA
Junior goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski (Elm Grove, Wisconsin) posted the ninth clean sheet of her career in Quinnipiac's win over Bryant. She is three clean sheets away from the top five in Bobcats program history.
LENDING A HELPING HAND
With returning players accounting for 2.79 assists per game from last season, the Bobcats rank fourth in all Division I women's soccer in returning assists per game in 2018. The Bobcats had an assist on all three goals against Bryant, including a rare two-assist goal when Selena Salas (Elche-Alicante, Spain) and Madison Borowiec (Windsor, Connecticut).
