FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac softball team muscled past in-state rival Sacred Heart 5-3 on Thursday afternoon. Erin Larsen, Miranda Magana and Keala Cordeiro all homered to lead the Bobcats to a road victory over the Pioneers, while Kendall Brundrett earned her second win of the season.

NOTES (QU 5, Sacred Heart 3):

Kendall Brundrett got the start and earned her second win of the season.
Brundrett gave up two runs and struck out one in five innings.
Erin Larsen, Miranda Magana and Keala Cordeiro each hit a solo home run in the win, while Rachel Marchuk drove in two runs.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead after Larsen led the game off with her team-leading sixth homer of the season.
Quinnipiac added three more runs in the second inning. Magana started the inning with a solo shot to left to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead. Later in the inning, with the bases loaded and two outs, Marchuk singled to right field to score two and give Quinnipiac a 4-0 lead.
Sacred Heart scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to cut into Quinnipiac's lead.
However, Quinnipiac added an insurance run when Cordeiro launched a solo home run to left field to give the Bobcats a 5-2 lead.
The Pioneers added one more run in the seventh, but Quinnipiac held on for the 5-3 win.

The Bobcats will be back in action when they play host to Canisius and Niagara for doubleheaders on Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8.
