KINGSTON, Rhode Island - The Quinnipiac baseball team fell to the University of Rhode Island on Tuesday afternoon, 7-5. The Bobcats outhit the Rams, 11-9, with senior Anthony Cruz and sophomores Andre Marrero and Evan Vulgamore each picking up a multi-hit game. Freshman Robert Lewis got the start on the hill for Quinnipiac, pitching four innings.

NOTES
- The Bobcats took the lead in the top of the second inning, when Anthony Cruz smacked a single, scoring Evan Vulgamore.
- Vulgamore started the two-out rally by reaching on an error, senior Ben Gibson would rsend Vulgamore to third with a single through the right side, before Cruz had his RBI single.
- After Rhode Island tied it in the bottom half, Quinnipiac would take a 3-1 lead in the top of the next frame.
- Sophomore Dylan Lutz started the inning with a two-bagger to the left-center field gap. He would score on a Brian Moskey squeeze bunt.
- Sophomore Andre Marrero would also send one to left center and pick up two bases, and Liam Scafariello drove him in with a one-out single to left field.
- With the score tied 3-3, Moskey got things going again in the top of the fifth, with a one-out single to left field, which would be followed by a Marrero single.
- With two outs in the inning, after both runners had advanced to scoring position via stolen base, freshman Colton Bender was able to lay down a bunt and beat it out for an RBI, with Marrero also coming home on a throwing error for a 5-3 lead.
- Freshman Robert Lewis threw four complete innings, allowing four runs on six hits and picking up a pair of strikeouts on the day.
- Senior Wyatt Hamilton worked well out of the pen, allowing no runs and allowing only two baserunners in two innings of work.
- Rhode Island trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh, but loaded the bases with nobody out and was able to push three runners across to take the lead for good.
- The game marked the 21st straight road contest for the Bobcats to start the season.
