ABILENE, Texas - The Quinnipiac baseball team was defeated by the Abilene Christian Wildcats 5-4 on Saturday afternoon. Ian Ostberg led the Bobcats offensively with three hits, and he also drove in a run. Ben Gibson hit Quinnipiac's first home run of the season. Brandon Shileikis and Chris Enns pitched for the Bobcats, each going four innings in their first outing of the year.

NOTES

Freshman Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts) continued his hot start, going 3-4 and driving home his first run.
After the first two games, he leads Quinnipiac with five hits.
Senior Ben Gibson (Sagamore Beach, Massachussetts) hit the first Bobcat home run of the 2018 season in the top of the 6th inning.
Junior Brian Moskey (Higganum, Connecticut) had a pair of hits on the day and scored a run.
Senior Anthony Cruz (Burlington, Massachusetts) and junior Liam Scafariello (Southington, Connecticut) each had an RBI.
Graduate student Brandon Shileikis (North Dighton, Massachusetts) got the start on the rubber. He went four complete, giving up three runs on eight hits, with three strikeouts.
Senior Chris Enns (Canton, Connecticut) pitched the final four innings, allowing two runs on four hits with four K's.
