GAME NOTES
- The game was the 11th that the Bobcats have played this season that has been decided by two points or less or in overtime. Quinnipiac is 7-4 in those games, with one-point wins over Manhattan, Marist, Siena and Dartmouth, and two-point wins over UMass, Columbia and Monmouth
- Manhattan went ahead after senior guard Rich Williams (29 points) hit two straight three-pointers in the final minute to turn a 69-64 Quinnipiac lead into a 70-69 Jasper advantage, knocking down the second one with 18 seconds left after a crossover move gave him an open look from the right wing.
- Quinnipiac did not call a timeout, and Young drove down the right side of the paint before being bottled up. He dribbled back and out, and found Washington cutting in from the weak side unguarded for the go-ahead lay-up with 6.7 seconds left.
- After a timeout, Manhattan's Zavier Turner dribbled the length of the court and took a three-pointer that missed. Pauly Paulicap got to the offensive rebound, and tried to grab the ball and shoot in one motion, but his second effort hit off the rim and junior forward Abdulai Bundu (Upper Marlboro, Md.) grabbed the rebound as time expired.
- Manhattan's late miss marked the fifth time that opponents have missed a potential buzzer-beater in a Bobcat win this season. Dartmouth, Columbia, Siena and Columbia previously had shots in the air to beat Quinnipiac that missed (while Colorado made one that dealt the Bobcats a 70-69 defeat).
- Young's 27 points tied the second-most that he has had in his career, and the most that he has had in a regulation game. His overall career high is 31 points, set in a double-overtime game against Iona, while he also had 27 points in regulation at Hartford.
- The game was close the whole way, as Manhattan's largest lead was four points, and Quinnipiac's biggest advantage was seven points.
- Bundu's final rebound gave him 10 for the game, the third time this season that he has been in double figures and ninth in his career
- Freshman forward Jacob Rigoni (Adelaide, Australia) joined Young in double figures with 14 points.
- Zane Waterman had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Jaspers.
