LAST WEEKEND IN HAMDEN
- The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team took on the University of New Hampshire Wildcats last weekend in a two-game set, concluding a six game homestand.
- The Bobcats were defeated by the Wildcats on Friday night, 4-2. They would fall again on Saturday afternoon, 2-1.
- Junior captain Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) and freshman Brooke Bonsteel (Mississauga, Ontario) provided the scoring in the first game.
- For Samoskevich, it was her team leading 11th goal of the year. Bonsteel now has eight goals on the season and leads all Bobcat freshmen in goals and points (10).
- Freshman Grace Markey (West Bloomfield, Michigan) recorded her first collegiate point with an assist on Friday night.
- Junior Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) and freshman Taylor House (Joliet, Illinois) also added assists. Lancaster leads Quinnipiac in assists (12) and points (20).
- In the second game, sophomore Kate MacKenzie (Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored her third goal of the season.
- Senior captain Alicia Barry (Hanson, Massachusetts) and junior Anna Kilponen (Orivesi, Finland) picked up an assist.
- Freshman Allison Small (Nestleton, Ontario) made a career-high 35 saves on Saturday afternoon.
- Rensselaer is 8-15-5 overall for the season, and is 5-9-2 in ECAC action.
- The Engineers are led offensively by Jaimie Grigsby and Shayna Tomlinson. Grigsby leads the team with eight goals and 17 points. Tomlinson is the team leader in assists with 11.
- Lovisa Selander has spent the majority of time between the pipes for Rensselaer. She has a .932 save percentage and 2.22 GAA. In conference play, her save percentage rises to .938 and her GAA falls to 2.02.
- The Engineers have not fared well at home this season, holding a 1-5-4 record in games played at the Houston Field House.
- Rensselaer is coming off a series split with Union last weekend. They picked up a 2-1 victory on Saturday.
- Union is 7-17-4 overall for the season, and is 5-10-1 in ECAC play.
- The Dutchwomen's leading scorer is Katelynn Russ. Russ has 12 goals, including 10 in conference play, and 18 points for the year.
- Cheyenne Harris leads the team with 13 assists. Caitlyn McLaren and Arianna Kosakowski are not for behind with 12 and 11 helpers, respectively.
- Coco Francis has seen the most minutes in net for the Dutchwomen. She holds a .923 save percentage and a 2.77 GAA for the year. In ECAC action, her save percentage is .910 and her GAA is 3.36.
- Union is 6-6-2 at home this season.
- Union and Rensselaer split a two-game series last weekend. Union won the first game, 2-1.
- Quinnipiac is 17-12-2 all-time against Rensselaer.
