TROY, New York – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated the Rensselaer Engineers on Friday night, 2-0. Sophomore Abbie Ives made 24 saves in her third shutout of the season. Junior Melissa Samoskevich and freshman Brooke Bonsteel found the twine in the victory.

- 10:49 2nd Period (QU 1-0): Melissa Samoskevich snuck one through the five-hole for a power play goal after some crisp passing from Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout and Kenzie Lancaster.
- 5:46 3rd Period (QU 2-0): Brooke Bonsteel found the top left corner of the net from right in front after passes behind the net from Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout and Laura Lundblad.
- Sophomore Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, New York) recorded her third shutout of the campaign, making 24 saves on the night. Her last shutout came on January 6, when the Bobcats defeated the Big Red of Cornell, 4-0.
- Junior captain Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) netted her team leading 12th goal of the year. She became the second Bobcat this season to record 20 points.
- Samoskevich now has four game winning goals on the year. She also scored the game-winner earlier in the season against the Engineers on November 11.
- Freshman Brooke Bonsteel (Mississauga, Ontario) scored her ninth goal of the season. She leads all Bobcat freshmen in goals and points (11).
- Junior Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) tallied her 13th assist of the season. She continues to lead Quinnipiac in both assists and points (21).
- Sophomore Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) picked up her fifth and sixth assists of the year. She now has 13 points on the season. This is her first multi-point game since she had a goal and an assist against Dartmouth on December 2.
- Freshman Laura Lundblad (Ada, Michigan) added her fourth assist of the year.
- Quinnipiac is now 12-4-1 in games in which they score first. In ECAC contests, the Bobcats are 9-1-0 whenever they score first.
- Head Coach Cassandra Turner remains unbeaten against RPI. She is now 7-0-1 against the Engineers all time.
- Quinnipiac was strong on special teams, killing both power play opportunities for the Engineers, and adding a power play goal.
