FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer played to a scoreless tie vs. top-seeded Fairfield on Saturday night at Lessing Field. With the draw, the Bobcats grab another point in the conference standings to move in to a tie with Marist for the second seed.

NOTES

Chrysostomos Iakovidis (Thessaloniki, Greece) was impressive in goal for the Bobcats, making eight stops to earn his first shutout of 2018.
The junior punched a Fairfield shot out of harms way less than five minutes into the second half, then made a diving two-handed save on a Stags' restart later in the half. Iakovidis is 2-2-1 so far in 2018, and has 15 career shutouts.
Quinnipiac has now earned two team shutouts this year.
The Bobcats are one of only three MAAC programs with 15 or more points in the conference standings. Fairfield is 6-0-1 in league play now, while Marist sits at an identical 5-1-1.
Fairfield led the game in total shots (14-9) and shots on goal (8-5), though the Bobcats generated many Grade A chances throughout the contest. Corner kicks were even (6-6).
Matthew Taylor (Dublin, Ireland), Jordon Bennett (Tumi Umi, Australia) and Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, Conn.) all earned good chances to score in the second half, but were turned away by the Stags defense. Taylor attempted three shots in total, Bennett recorded two shots, and Dally attempted one.
Eamon Whelan (New Fairfield, Conn.) still leads all MAAC scorers in goals (10) and total points (21) so far in 2018.
Quinnipiac is now 3-2-2 all-time vs. the Stags.
