- 83:37 (Quinnipiac 1, Rider 1): Whelan tied things up in the 84th minute of play, finishing a pass from Rashawn Dally (Bloomfield, Conn.) to tie the game. Dally headed the ball inside the box toward Whelan, who headed it into the right side of the net with the keeper charging.
- 89:34 (Quinnipiac 2, Rider 1): Whelan then recorded his MAAC-leading 10th goal of the season with just 26 seconds left to send the Bobcats home with the win. - With two more goals in the win, Whelan now has 10 goals and 21 total points – which both currently lead the MAAC. The junior needs just one more goal and one more point to match his previous single-season best, which he set in 2016 as a freshman.

- Dally tallied two more assists for Quinnipiac, giving him two goals and five assists for nine points so far in 2018. The senior needs just four more points to tie his personal season-best, which he set in 2016 with 13 total points.
- Chrysostomos Iakovidis (Thessaloniki, Greece) made two saves in net for the Bobcats, earning his first victory of the season. Iakovidis now has 17 total saves in 2018 to go along with a 1.85 goals-against average.

- Quinnipiac has now scored multiple goals in seven of 13 games this season.
- The Bobcats are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 20, traveling to Fairfield for a 7:00 p.m. MAAC contest.
