Quinnipiac will host Canisius for a three-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference series on Apr. 29-30, 2017 at the QU Baseball Field in Hamden, Conn. Saturday will feature a nine-inning game at 12 p.m., followed by a seven-inning game approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game. Sunday will feature a 12 p.m. start for a nine-inning game that will feature Senior Day festivities prior to the start of the game.
2017 SENIOR DAY
Prior to the start of the Bobcats' game against the Griffs on Sunday, Apr. 30, Quinnipiac Athletics will honor Joseph Burns, Matthew Batten, Ryan Nelson, Mike Palladino, Matthew Osieja, Matthew Oestreicher, Gregory Egan, Alex Vargas and Wyatt Hamilton as part of 2017 Quinnipiac Baseball Senior Day.
MILESTONES AND STREAKS
Quinnipiac baseball has been in a record-breaking mood as of late, with a trio of Bobcats' etching their names in the record books.
• Matthew Batten stole his program-record 62nd career stolen base at Iona. He currently stands at 65 career stolen bases.
• Batten also continues his journey up the all-time charts as his 237 career hits, which ranks fourth all-time behind Tim Binkoski '05 (244) as well as Ryan Rizzo and Wilson Matos (238).
• Batten is also tied with Steve Kulpa '93 for 6th all-time in career runs scored with 132 behind Joe Zangari '00 (144), John Delaney '08 (139), Tim Belcher '97 (137), Tim Binkoski '07 (136) and Nate Noyes '00 (134).
• Batten also stands at 95 career RBI's and trails Brian Magee '05 for 10th place with 97. There have been nine players in Quinnipiac's Division I history to drive in 100 runs, with Joe Poletsky '11 being the last.
• Matthew Osieja broke the all-time appearances record when he make his 64th career trip to the mound against UConn on Tuesday. Osieja broke the record for most appearances by a pitcher that was held by Matthew Lorenzetti '15 and Mike Spahr '05 of 63. He currently stands at 65 career appearances.
• With a home run against Saint Peter's this weekend, Liam Scafariello now stands at 13 for the year, good for third all-time. He recently passed Randy Gress '07, Jeff Mainetti '07 and Peter Kummerfeldt '09, who all homered 12 times in 2007. Scafariello trails Joe Zangari (16) and Nate Noyes (14) for the single-season record.

• Matthew Batten currently leads Quinnipiac in batting average (.302), on-base percentage (.362), hits (45), doubles (10), stolen bases (13), multiple-hit games (14), and owns the longest reached-base safely streak (17 games) and the longest hitting streak (11).
• Liam Scafariello leads the Bobcats in slugging percentage (.593), runs scored (28), RBI (28), home runs (13), total bases (83), walks (22) and multiple-RBI games (7).
• Ryan Nelson has put together a career year in his fifth season with the Bobcats. Nelson is batting .288 with a .410 slugging percentage as well as accumulating 45 hits, 20 RBI, seven doubles, four home runs and six stolen bases. Nelson is also second in the line-up in multiple-hit games (13) and multiple-RBI games (6). Nelson is also batting .316 in 15 MAAC games while leading the team with 18 hits.
• Brian Moskey checks-in with a .281 average while also posting a .396 slugging percentage and a .342 on-base percentage. Moskey has scored 24 runs while ranking second with 21 RBI. He also ranks second with seven doubles and third in home runs (3). Moskey also has 11 multiple-hit games.
• Joseph Burns has hit at a .274 clip while ranking second behind Batten with a .350 on-base percentage. Burns also ranks among the team leaders in runs scored (21), hits (40), RBI (16), home runs (4), walks (16) while also putting together 10 multiple-hit games.
• Chris Enns continued his dominance since becoming a starter with a gem against St. Peter's. Enns gave up one unearned run over seven innings in a 13-1 win scattering seven hits and striking out six. Enns made the move to the starting rotation at Niagara on Apr. 9 and since then has allowed just one unearned run over 17 2/3 innings while striking out 17. In back to back wins, Enns struck out 10 across 13 innings without allowing an earned run.
• Robbie Hitt improved to 2-2 on the season after hurling seven innings - of a nine-inning game - of scoreless, five-hit baseball against St. Peter's last weekend. Hitt issued a single walk and struck-out five. It was Hitt's second shut-down performance in MAAC play this season after he spun six innings of scoreless ball against Marist in a 2-0 win on Apr. 3. Hitt struck out seven Red Foxes that day.
• Taylor Luciani went the distance in a seven-inning game against St. Peter's last week, holding the Peacocks to one run on five hits while striking out four. Despite a 1-3 record in conference play, Luciani has been effective, giving up 13 earned runs out of the 25 allowed in his starts over 25 2/3 innings in MAAC play in five starts.
• Mike Davis has been the Bobcats' closer all season, but has thrived in six appearances in 12 MAAC games, In conference games, Davis has yet to allow a run, while scattering four hits and striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings while converting four saves. In 14 appearances for the season, Davis has allowed just one earned run - three total - while striking out 22 over 17 2/3 for six saves.
