Game 1 Highlights
- Batten was 2-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored while Ryan Nelson (Knoxville, Tennessee) and Ben Gibson (Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts) also posted a two-hit day.
- Joseph Burns (Shelton, Connecticut) sprayed a single the opposite way on a full-count offering to score Batten and give Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead. After Iona responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning, Gibson connected for his second home run of the season to give Quinnipiac a 2-1 lead.
- Burns drove in Batten with his second RBI of the day to cut Iona's lead to 7-3 in the third before Batten drove in Palladino to make it 7-4 in the fifth. Iona was able to tack on five more runs to cruise to a 12-4 win.
- For Palladino, the fifth-year Bobcat extended of his streak of games in which he reached base safely to 15 through Game 1, before he was unable to reach in Game 2. It stands as the second-longest on-base streak this season after Batten's 17-game streak earlier in the year.
Game 2 Highlights
- Quinnipiac used a sacrifice bunt from Brian Moskey (Higganum, Connecticut) in the top of the 7th inning to plate Ryan Nelson (Knoxville, Tennessee) and sneak out a 1-0 victory against Iona.
- The Bobcats' Batten led the game off with a single, but Quinnipiac couldn't muster another hit until their final at-bats. Nelson then led-off the inning with a single before Burns bunted him over. A Liam Scafariello (Southington, Connecticut) single moved Nelson to third before Moskey's two-out bunt scored Nelson and gave Quinnipiac a 1-0 lead.
- Bobcats' closer Mike Davis (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) converted on his sixth save of the season with a scoreless 9th inning. Chris Enns (Canton, Connecticut) improved to 2-1 after holding Iona to four hits and no runs over six innings. Enns has now allowed just one earned run over his last 13 1/3 innings pitched.
