Quinnipiac is one of 17 teams competing in the Low Country Intercollegiate including Wofford, Seton Hall, Bethune Cookman, The Citadel, Dalton State, Gardner-Webb, Appalachian State, Navy, High Point, USC Upstate, Longwood, Presbyterian, SCAD Savannah, Bucknell and USC Beaufort.
LIVE SCORING
Live scoring for the event can be found at BirdieFire.com.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The 2017 Low Country Intercollegiate is a 36-hole tournament played over the course of two days. Saturday and Sunday will each feature 18 holes of competition and each day will be a 9:30 AM shotgun start. There are 17 teams competing in the event and 11 individuals.
THE COURSE
Golf at Moss Creek is some of the finest in all of the Low Country, with its two championship courses, Devil's Elbow South and Devil's Elbow North. Both courses were Fazio-designed more than 30 years ago, with the intention of making the game challenging for the low handicap golfers, as well as fair and playable to the higher handicap golfers.
Both of these courses are truly hidden treasurers. There is a real beauty to each of them as you ride or walk down the fairways. Each course is lined with magnificent oak trees and tall airy pines, with strategically-placed sand traps, large ponds and water tributaries, and last but not least are the salt marshes which change twice daily with the tides. All this beauty, and there is still more! While you are playing your round of golf you may see alligators sunning on the banks, or you might spot an egret or hawk, or even an eagle swooping down to snatch a fish out of one of the many ponds, and on occasion you could see a family of wild turkeys scampering across a fairway trying to avoid a barrage of tee shots coming down on them.
MAAC PRESEASON POLL
The reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Champion Quinnipiac women's golf team was announced as the co-favorite to win the 2017 MAAC Championship, earning the same number of points from the league's coaches in the preseason poll as Albany. Additionally, Quinnipiac earned three first-place votes to Albany's five
THE BOBCATS' LAST TIME OUT
The Quinnipiac women's golf team completed the third and final round of the WKU-SMU Spring Break Shoot-out in 11th place out of 13 teams that competed at Lake Jovita Golf Course in Dade County, Florida.
