
QU Women’s Ice Hockey Skates to 3-3 Tie With Yale, Wins Shootout 2-1, Advances to Nutmeg Classic Final

Storrs, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team needed more than 65 minutes to take home a victory on Friday afternoon. The Bobcats skated to a 3-3 tie with the Yale Bulldogs and would need four rounds of shootouts to determine a winner. Kenzie Lancaster and Kenzie Prater scored in the shootout to propel the Bobcats to victory.

- 6:17 2nd Period (QU 2-1): Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout flicked the puck to the top corner of the net from just outside the crease after passes from Abby Cleary and Randi Marcon.
- 18:35 2nd Period (QU 3-1): Kati Tabin sent a one-time slap shot to the top left corner of the net after passes from Shannon Cherpak and Kenzie Lancaster on the power play.
- 2:52 3rd Period (QU 3-2): Greta Skarzynski found the back of the net from between the circles.
- 3:16 3rd Period (Tied 3-3): Emma Vlasic scored redirected the puck to find the twine from the right post.
- Juniors Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina) and Kenzie Prater (Hudson, Wisconsin) found the back of the net for the Bobcats in the shootout.
- Sophomore goaltender Abbie Ives (Bedford Hills, New York) made two huge saves in the shootout, as well as 12 others during the first 65 minutes of play.
- Sophomore Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout (Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec) recorded her first multi-point game of the season with two goals. She is now second on the team with five goals for the year.
- Sophomore Kati Tabin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) netted her first goal of the year. She now has three goals in her career at Quinnipiac.
- Sophomore Abby Cleary (Buffalo, New York) picked up her second multi-point game on the campaign with a pair of assists.
- Lancaster also added to her team lead in assists, tallying her ninth of the season.
- Senior Shannon Cherpak (Enfield, Connecticut) recorded her first point of the season with an assist.
- Junior Randi Marcon (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and sophomore Kate MacKenzie (Winnipeg, Manitoba) each added an assist. Marcon now has five helpers on the season, and MacKenzie has three.
