HAMDEN, Connecticut - The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team will travel in-state this weekend up to Storrs to take part in the Nutmeg Classic. The Bobcats will face rival Yale on Friday at 3 PM. Depending upon results, they will either face host UConn or Penn State on Saturday at either 3 PM or 6 PM.
NUTMEG CLASSIC
Quinnipiac, Yale, UConn, and Penn State will all compete in the 2017 Nutmeg Classic - which will be held at Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum in Storrs, Connecticut on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25.

LAST WEEKEND IN NORTH COUNTRY
· Quinnipiac defeated the #4/4 Clarkson Golden Knights last Friday with a 3-2 victory in Overtime.
· Junior Kenzie Lancaster (Waxhaw, North Carolina scored twice and tallied an assist in the victory.
· Junior captain Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) netted the game-winning goal for the Bobcats just 25 seconds in to the overtime period.
· Senior Raquel Pennoyer (Rehoboth, Massachusetts) picked up two assists on the contests, and sophomore Kati Tabin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) added one as well.
· This was the first time that Quinnipiac had defeated a ranked opponent since they defeated #8/9 Colgate in January. It also tied a program record for highest ranked opponent defeated. The Bobcats defeated #4 Boston College in November 2011.
· In the second game of the weekend, the Bobcats were defeated by #7/7 St. Lawrence, 4-2.
· Melissa Samoskevich was the lone scorer for Quinnipiac on Saturday, planting both goals for the Bobcats. The first goal came on the power play, her second of the season.
· Kati Tabin recorded another assist against the Saints.
· Senior Alicia Barry (Hanson, Massachusetts) and junior Anna Kilponen (Orivesi, Finland) added an assist on Saturday.

· The Bulldogs come in to this contest 2-6-2 on the season, and 1-5-2 in ECAC play
· Both of Yale's victories this season have come on the road, at Dartmouth and at RIT.
· Head Coach Joakim Flygh returns for his eighth season at the helm.
· Senior forward Eden Murray leads the Bulldogs with three goals in seven games player
· Junior defenseman Julia Yetman leads Yale with five assists and seven points.
· Sophomore Tera Hofmann has seen the most time in net for the Bulldogs. She has a 1-3-2 record, a save percentage of .915, and has allowed 2.56 goals per game.

· Quinnipiac is 16-15-6 all time against Yale University
· The last time these two teams met, the Bobcats came away with a 4-1 victory in Hamden on February 4, 2017.
· Quinnipiac Head Coach Cassandra Turner has only lost to Yale once. She is 5-1-0 all-time against the Bulldogs as a head coach.

· Junior forward Kenzie Lancaster scored the first two goals last Friday against #4 Clarkson, when the Bobcats defeated the Golden Knights 3-2 in Overtime
· Lancaster would then add to her team lead in assists, picking up her eighth of the season on the game-winning goal against the Golden Knights, giving her 3 points for the contest.
· She is tied for the team lead in points (12) with Melissa Samoskevich.
PENNOYER THE DESTROYER
· Senior forward Raquel Pennoyer was excellent with her passing last weekend, leading to two assists for the right winger.
· Pennoyer recorded an assist on both the game-tying and game-winning goal against the #4 Clarkson Golden Knights on Friday night.
· She now has six assists for the season.
TABIN SETTING THE TABLE
· Sophomore defenseman Kati Tabin had a nice multi-point weekend for the Bobcats against the Golden Knights and the Saints.
· Tabin tallied an assist against both Clarkson and St. Lawrence last Friday and Saturday.
· She also now has six assists for the season.
DOMINANT DEFENSE
· Quinnipiac finished the 2016-2017 season No.2 in the nation in team defense, giving up just 1.38 goals per contest.
