HAMDEN, Connecticut - Quinnipiac men's ice hockey blanked Yale, 3-0, in the 16th Annual Heroes Hat game behind an incredible performance by sophomore goalie Andrew Shortridge (Anchorage, Alaska). Shortridge turned back everything that Yale threw at him in recording his second-straight shutout with a 30-save performance in front of a standing-room-only crowd of 3,625 at the Frank Perrotti, Jr. Arena in Hamden, Conn. With the win, Quinnipiac improves to 5-5-1 overall and 2-4-0 in ECAC Hockey while Yale drops to 3-5-0 on the year including ECAC Hockey play.

Shortridge becomes the first Quinnipiac goalie to record back-to-back shutouts since Michael Garteig against Yale on Dec. 4, 2015 and Brown on Dec. 5, 2015. It was also the last time Quinnipiac posted back-to-back shutouts and also the last time Yale was held without a goal.

SCORING SUMMARY

2:22, 2nd (QU 1, Yale 0): Brogan Rafferty (Dundee, Illinois) took a pass from Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) and blasted a shot on goal from the point, finding the top left corner to put Quinnipiac on the board.
14:58, 3rd (QU 2, Yale 0): Freshman Devin Moore (Hampstead, New Hampshire) started the play with a pass across the defensive zone to Kevin McKernan (Millbury, Massachusetts). McKernan launched a shot on goal that Craig Martin (Trail, British Columbia) tipped to put Quinnipac on top, 2-0.
15:31, 3rd (QU 3, Yale 0): McKernan started the play when he sent an outlet pass up-ice to Thomas Aldworth (Heller, Texas), who turned on the jets and beat a Yale defender down the ice. Finding himself on a one-on-one breakaway with Yale goalie Sam Tucker, Aldworth roofed a shot over the Bulldogs' goalie's left shoulder for his first of the season.

NOTES

Shortridge improves to 4-4-1 overall with a .925 save percentage and a 1.85 goals-against average. The Bobcats' goalie now owns a scoreless streak of 129:15 dating back to the third period of Quinnipiac's game at Union.
With the win, Quinnipiac extends its unbeaten streak against Yale to 10 games at 9-0-1 while it also extends its unbeaten streak on its home ice against Yale to 11 games at 8-0-3.
Devin Moore picked up his first collegiate point in teh game, while Thomas Aldworth and Brogan Rafferty both posted their first goals of the season.
Chase Priskie's assist was his fourth of the season to go-along with five goals for nine points, while he now owns a four-game point streak with three goals in three assists for six points in his last four games.
McKernan's two-point night was a season-best for the Quinnipiac blue-liner and gives him four for the season.

Quinnipiac is back in action with a two-game set against Massachusetts after Thanksgiving. The Bobcats host UMass on Friday, Nov. 24 before traveling to Amherst, Mass. for a match-up at the Mullins Center at 7:30 p.m.
