MATCH NOTES
- Quinnipiac concludes its season with 10 wins, the fifth time it has reached double figures in the program's Division I history and the first time it has done so in back to back seasons.
- Senior Elizabeth Kloos (Munster, Ind.), who missed six weeks with a broken ankle before returning on her Senior Day last weekend, had four kills, finishing her career with 779 kills, fourth on Quinnipiac's all-time Division I list.
- Sophomore setter Maria Pansari (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) had 50 assists, giving her 988 this season, falling just short of the 1000-assist plateau for the second straight season. She became the first Quinnipiac setter to reach that mark at the Division I level last year.
- Natalie Alechko (Old Tappan, N.J.) and Kat Miller (Collegeville, P.A.) led the Bobcats with 18 kills apiece.
- Quinnipiac fell behind 2-0 early after dropping the first set 25-20 and second set 25-16.
- Quinnipiac battled back to stay alive in the third set, using a 6-2 run to tie the score at 18-18 at one point.
- Down 22-19 in the third set, the Bobcats closed the set on a 6-1 run to force a fourth set.
- Miller led the way with seven kills in the third set.
- Quinnipiac used a 6-1 run early in the fourth set to take an 11-5 lead that Iona could not battle back from.
- The Bobcats used a 9-2 run to close the fourth set and force a fifth and decisive set.
- Iona and Quinnipiac went back and forth in the fifth set before the Gaels pulled away late, 15-11.
- The Bobcats graduate only two seniors, Kloos and outside hitter Jamie Termotto (Smithtown, N.Y.), as they hope to enter next season as one of the top contenders in the MAAC.
