GAME LINKS SETTING THE STAGE
Following the team's best performance of the season, the Quinnipiac women's soccer team returns to action with its 2017 home finale against Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon from the Quinnipiac Soccer Stadium. The Bobcats are coming off an incredible 4-0 triumph over Niagara on Senior Day as Quinnipiac netted four goals, including a 3-0 margin after the Bobcats were whistled for a red card in the 12th minute of play. Next up for the Bobcats is a huge MAAC contest featuring the two highest-scoring teams in the league, both of which are ranked in the top four of the league standings. Manhattan comes to town armed with a 6-2 league record and have lost only once in the last seven games. Incredibly, all five of the contests in which these two sides have faced off since Quinnipiac joined the MAAC in 2013 have ended in a 1-0 decision (Manhattan has won three of the five contests since 2013).
LAST GAME RECAP (QU 4, NIA 0)
In the game of soccer, rare doesn't even begin to describe what happened on Saturday for the Quinnipiac. Despite having a player shown a red card in the 12th minute, playing with the inherent emotions of Senior Day and facing a team that outscored the Bobcats by a combined score of 7-0 over their last two meetings, Quinnipiac turned in a marvelous performance that saw the home side defeat Niagara by a score of 4-0 from the Quinnipiac Soccer Stadium. The game script was made even more perfect as senior Carly Glaser fired in the opening goal, her first of the season in just the second start of her career, which also went down as the game-winner in her Senior Day game.
AL'S HONOR
Junior forward Al Pelletier's three-goal week earned her MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday. Pelletier's three goals in two games last week led all MAAC players while earned her the first MAAC weekly award of her three-year career. Pelletier becomes the second Bobcat to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors as she joins Nadya Gill who earned the same award back on Aug. 21 in the first week of the 2017 season. Quinnipiac joins Niagara (three) and Monmouth (two) as the only three teams in the league to earn the honor more than once this season.
NOTES
- In the 4-0 win over Niagara on Saturday, Quinnipiac improved to 6-0-2 in 2017 in games in which the Bobcats score first
- Quinnipiac has struggled in games in which the opposition scores first as their most-recent 2-1 loss at Iona last Wednesday moved their record to 1-6 in games wherein the opposition scores first

- In addition, the Bobcats have five players with at least three goals on the season, no other team in the MAAC has more than two players with at least three goals in 2017
- Despite being shown a red card in the 12th minute (the first for the Bobcats since 2014), the ensuing missed penalty kick proved to be a landmark moment in the match as Quinnipiac went on to dominate the score 3-0 and shot total (15-9) following the red card in the team's 4-0 triumph over Niagara on Saturday
- The four-goal total is the most Quinnipiac has ever scored in a game where the Bobcats were issued a red card
- Carly Glaser adds another game-winning goal to her resume as the senior's first career tally was also the game-winner last season in a 3-0 home win over Marist

- Nadya Gill racked up three points (one goal, two assists) in the win over Niagara as she continues to lead the MAAC in points (30), goals (11) and assists (eight) through 15 games this season
- The next-closest player point total in the league is Rider's Michelle Iacono with 21 (10 points behind Gill)
- Gill is currently one of 34 players in the nation with double digit goal totals this season as she is tied for the 13th-most in the country with 11 tallies in 2017

- As far as her career totals, Gill sits tied for seventh all-time at Quinnipiac in career goals (28), tied for 10th in career assists (14) and ninth in career points (70)
- Olivia Myszewski was solid once again in net, making six saves in the Niagara win while the Bobcat defense excelled in a match where the team was playing with just 10 for over 78 minutes
- Myszewski now owns a 0.82 goals-against average in MAAC play while sporting a .863 save percentage with 44 saves and three clean sheets thus far through eight league games
- Kelsey Goldring is a two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week who leads all MAAC freshmen in points (17), goals (five) and assists (seven) this season
- Madison Borowiec picked up her sixth assist of the season in the 4-0 win over Niagara, giving her 14 points (four goals, six assists) in a breakout junior campaign
- Quinnipiac currently has four players with at least five assists on the season, all of which rank in the Top 10 in the MAAC in assists per game
- As a team, Quinnipiac's offense has been buzzing all season, currently tied for 22nd in the nation in scoring offense (2.27), fourth in assists per game (2.93) and tied for 11th in points per game (7.47)
- In terms of total assists (44), Quinnipiac is third in the nation as 12 different players have dished out at least one assist this year while both Gill (eight) and Goldring (seven) sit first and second in the league in assists this season
- Miraculously, Quinnipiac's offense has led the MAAC (currently tied for 22nd in the nation) all season despite averaging a mere 11.20 shots per game (234th in the nation, 8th in the MAAC)
